    Responsibilities

    The Dalí seeks an experienced and highly motivated Grants Manager to enhance the Museum’s fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for researching, writing and submitting compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry and reports to private foundations, corporate funders and government agencies. This position also supports efforts to cultivate and sustain relationships with government entities to advance the Museum’s public funding efforts and foster meaningful civic engagement. Reporting to the Director of Development, and working closely with Administration and other staff, the Grants Manager will support funding efforts for exhibitions, education programs and institutional initiatives.

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities

    • Research and identify future grants that align with The Dalí’s strategic priorities and needs
    • Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including current and prospective funders
    • Lead the writing, assembly and submission of current and future grant applications for local and national, private and public funding sources
    • Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information and data for proposals and reporting; including but not limited to working with Finance in developing complex budget documentation
    • Prepare clear supporting documentation and grant defense reports
    • Manage a shared grants calendar to track deadlines for submissions and reporting, ensuring timely delivery
    • Ensure accuracy, alignment and adherence to funder guidelines in all submitted materials
    • Prepare stewardship materials for grant funders, including acknowledgment letters, donor reports and impact updates
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all grant activity, submissions, reports and related correspondence
    • Support Administration with presentations, talking points and other materials for elected officials, government agencies and arts & community councils
    • Support the organization as a representative for advocacy efforts such as attending council meetings, briefings or arts-advocacy days
    • Stay informed about legislative issues, policy changes and public funding trends that could impact the Museum
    • Assist with reporting and data collection efforts to communicate the Museum’s impact to donors and other constituents
    • Participate in occasional strategy and planning meetings, as needed, to align grant & advocacy efforts with overall fundraising goals
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Development or Executive Director

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably within the arts or nonprofit sector
    • Exceptional writing, research and editing skills
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Self-starter, motivated, excellent follow through
    • Excels in building relationships
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Familiarity with fundraising databases and tracking tools is a plus

    Work Schedule

    • This is a full-time exempt position, within the Museum’s standard administrative office hours Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm
    • Employees are required to work on-site at the Museum
    • Occasional work after hours including nights/weekends, as dictated by Museum event schedules
