    Position Overview

    NYCEEC is seeking a resourceful, conscientious Associate to join our growing organization as a member of NYCEEC’s business development team. This position plays an important role in NYCEEC’s work of sourcing, underwriting and closing transactions to help advance the clean energy economy.

    With more than $598 million of capital mobilized as of April 2025, NYCEEC has demonstrated the transformative nature of our work. While financing projects that reduce GHG emissions, our activities help crowd-in capital, expand the green lending ecosystem, and improve access to financing for green projects, especially in areas that have historically been overlooked.

    The NYCEEC team works in a hybrid model, presently in the office two (2) days per week and remote the remainder. NYCEEC’s office is in midtown Manhattan. This is a full-time position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with senior Transaction Managers to oversee the full investment process of NYCEEC’s clean energy project finance loans, including origination, diligence, loan structuring, negotiation, closing, and portfolio management. Responsibilities will include:
      • Conducting financial, technical and legal due diligence on sponsors, projects and technologies.
      • Financial modeling, market analysis, and risk assessment culminating in the preparation of credit memos and investment summaries for approval by internal parties and NYCEEC’s credit committee.
      • Supporting the transaction closing process by coordinating with sponsors, legal counsel, and other third-party stakeholders.
      • Tracking and managing external relationships and pipeline opportunities, as well as assisting in portfolio monitoring.
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to renewable energy, project finance, and community lending and serve as a subject matter expert.
    • Attend industry conferences and functions, and solicit potential customers for new business opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • An interest in NYCEEC’s mission and the transition to a clean energy economy
    • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years (4) of relevant professional work experience (e.g., transactions, underwriting, project finance, commercial lending, corporate finance, real estate, or related field) or MBA / advanced degree plus three years of relevant professional work experience required. A minimum of two (2) years of directly relevant experience at a bank, investment fund or other financial institution is required.
    • Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills.
    • Superior attention to detail; proven ability to effectively interpret and synthesize a variety of inputs from different stakeholders into compelling written materials.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    Compensation and Benefits

    The base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $110,000 per year. NYCEEC also offers a discretionary bonus (~10% pool) based on annual organizational and individual performance. NYCEEC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
