Hawthorne Valley Association, a nonprofit working at the intersection of agriculture, education, and the arts in Columbia County, NY, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Database Manager to strengthen our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This is not an entry-level role. The ideal candidate brings a passion for data, a systems mindset, and strong working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT) or a comparable nonprofit CRM.
Who You Are
- You love organizing and optimizing data systems and understand how a well-maintained database can drive mission impact.
- You have at least two years of experience in nonprofit data management, development operations, or donor services.
- You enjoy balancing recurring tasks with the variety of seasonal projects like fundraising events and appeals.
- You take initiative, communicate clearly, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- You live within commuting distance of Ghent, NY and are comfortable working on-site.
Position Details
- Hourly Rate: $25/hour
- Schedule: 25-29 hours/week; flexible within normal business hours
- Location: On-site in Ghent, NY (not a hybrid position)
- Benefits: Two weeks paid vacation, paid holidays, and sick days
- Reports to: Director of Development and Executive Director
- Employment Type: Year-round, part-time
Key Responsibilities
- Process and acknowledge donations (online and physical)
- Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Generate monthly reports and income summaries
- Support development and event fundraising efforts
- Build and maintain donation forms, campaigns, and appeals
- Communicate with donors and uphold high data integrity and donor confidentiality
- Provide donor insights and reports to leadership
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge NXT or another advanced nonprofit CRM
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with financial reconciliation and/or working with a finance team
- A willingness to learn new tools and systems as needed
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet regular deadlines
- Familiarity with nonprofit donor relations and fundraising events a plus
