Community Partners of Dallas is looking for a Development Coordinator to join our team!
Who We Are
Community Partners of Dallas (CPD) provides what abused and neglected children urgently need today to thrive tomorrow. This is accomplished by working closely with the amazing caseworkers of Dallas County’s child welfare system. We are the first step towards healing for approximately 20,000 children annually.
About the Role
The Development Coordinator is an exciting early-career role that supports the day-to-day execution of Community Partners of Dallas’ fundraising, communications and administrative efforts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate donor and campaign data, assisting the coordination of event logistics and ensuring the behind-the-scenes work of the Development and Communications team runs smoothly.
The Development Coordinator also leads the execution of the organization’s social media presence, creating and publishing content, engaging with followers and helping share the organization’s impact with the community. This role requires strong attention to detail, creativity, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative and Team Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Development and Communications team
- Assist with project coordination, timelines and follow-up tasks
- Support general team needs, including occasional deliveries and supply pick-ups
Database Management and Donor Records
- Enter and maintain donor, campaign and event data in Network for Good
- Support gift entry, invoice generation and basic reporting
- Keep donor records, guest lists and event data accurate and up to date
- Help ensure all campaign data is organized and ready for reporting and stewardship
Campaign and Event Support
- Support fundraising campaigns with data entry, tracking and logistics
- Maintain guest lists, registrations, seating and donation records
- Organize supplies, materials and event inventory
- Assist with event setup, execution and breakdown
Donor Stewardship Support
- Prepare donor acknowledgment materials and mailings
- Help ensure donor information is accurate for timely thank-you processes
- Support recordkeeping for stewardship and year-end giving
Board Support
- Assist with preparing Board engagement updates
- Help maintain accurate Board giving records
Communications and Social Media
- Execute social media content, including writing posts, creating graphics and publishing 3 to 4 times per week
- Support content planning aligned with campaigns and organizational priorities
- Actively monitor and respond to comments, messages and tags across platforms
- Help maintain a consistent voice and strong engagement with donors, volunteers and the community
At Community Partners of Dallas, we function as a team. With this comes an expectation that each employee will participate in both programmatic and fundraising initiatives that move our mission forward throughout the year. Planning, preparation and execution of these events and projects may fall outside of normal business hours and require employees to complete their responsibilities for the organization outside of normal business hours. Examples include but are not limited to Chick Lit Luncheon, Change is Good, NorthPark Pumpkin Patch, Gingerbread Stroll, four annual drives (Easter, Back-to-School, Coats and Toys), the Partnership, The Circle, yCPD, Grateful Table, Thrive Together, end of year donor stewardship and other activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1 to 2 years of experience in administrative, marketing, communications or nonprofit roles
- Demonstrated experience managing or creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, engaging and on-brand social media content
- Experience creating graphics using Canva or similar tools
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially with data entry and recordkeeping
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning database or CRM systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Willingness to support events, including occasional early mornings, evenings or off-site work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, brand or nonprofit with regular posting and audience engagement
- Familiarity with social media planning tools, content calendars or basic analytics tracking
- Experience with donor databases such as Network for Good or similar CRM systems
- Internship or work experience supporting fundraising campaigns or events
- Basic understanding of storytelling for nonprofits, including how to communicate impact through digital content
- Strong customer service mindset with confidence interacting with donors, volunteers and community partners
