    Senior Financial Analyst

This hands-on role will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis functions while partnering with teams across the organization.

    Vision To Learn is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. This position is open to both Los Angeles-based and remote candidates within the United States.

    Position: Full-Time

    Reports to: CFO

    Salary Range: $95,000–$110,000 annually, depending on location and experience

    Position Summary

    Vision To Learn is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with both a passion for nonprofit work and relevant experience. This role will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis functions that are critical to realizing VTL’s mission and vision. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team and will have significant visibility across the organization, including senior leadership, the VTL Board, and field operations.

    In collaboration with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Analyst will lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and perform financial analysis for the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will develop financial models, monitor budget-to-actual performance, translate financial data into clear, actionable insights, and play an instrumental role in implementing and optimizing the organization’s FP&A software.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Partner with Operations and Development staff to support accurate budgeting and reporting
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses and cash flow projections
    • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support organizational planning and long-range financial strategy
    • Monitor spending against grant and program budgets
    • Prepare financial reporting materials and schedules for government, corporate, and foundation grants
    • Implement FP&A software and build out budgeting processes and reports
    • Support the preparation of financial statements and board-specific reporting
    • Assist with audit readiness by preparing and updating supporting schedules and analyses

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent combination of education and relevant finance experience
    • 4+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting
    • Prior experience working in a nonprofit
    • Understanding of grant budgets and restricted funding, including the analysis and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants
    • Technology savvy with advanced knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and reporting software and the ability to work with financial data across multiple systems

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Expert-level Excel skills working with complex workbooks using formulas, macros, and pivot tables
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
    • Experience with Sage Intacct
    • Prior experience in nonprofit finance, including fund and grant budgeting and monitoring
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly motivated, resourceful, and flexible, with a positive attitude
    • Effective communication and documentation skills
