The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing is seeking a Temporary Raiser’s Edge Data Specialist to support critical database cleanup, maintenance, and data integrity projects within our Development and Communications Department. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy professional who thrives in a mission‑driven environment and is committed to excellence in data management.
Position Overview
The Temporary Raiser’s Edge Data Specialist will play a key role in strengthening the accuracy, consistency, and functionality of our donor database. This position will focus on data cleanup, record maintenance, gift entry review, and other tasks essential to ensuring the integrity of our fundraising and stewardship systems.
This is a temporary, project‑based position with an anticipated duration of 3–6 months, depending on project scope and workflow needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data cleanup, including duplicate resolution, record standardization, and field normalization
- Review and update constituent records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Audit and reconcile gift entries, pledge payments, and fund allocations
- Support database maintenance, including global changes, queries, and exports
- Assist with reporting needs for Development and Finance teams
- Document processes and data standards to support long‑term database health
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent data entry practices and adherence to organizational protocols
- Assist in building, organizing, and maintaining moves management workflows, including tracking donor cultivation steps, updating pipeline stages, and providing staff support to ensure consistent and effective use of the system.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT preferred)
- Strong understanding of donor database management and fundraising operations
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with nonprofit development operations is a plus
Work Environment & Schedule
- Temporary, part‑time or full‑time hours available depending on candidate availability
- Hybrid schedule, in office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Reports to the Development and Communications Director
- The hourly rate for this temporary position is up to $50 per hour, consistent with nonprofit data specialist roles in the Washington, DC area and based on the previous experience our preferred candidate brings.
