    Position Summary

    The Family Support Network Director reports to the Senior Director of Deportation Defense and is responsible for developing and executing strategies aimed at providing direct support to community members through the Family Support Network Hotline. This position will oversee the FSN Coordinator, ensure the effective operation of the FSN Hotline, and focus on improving the hotline’s capability to serve the immigrant community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with the Deportation Defense and Programs Departments to merge multiple hotlines under the Family Support Network into a unified support system.
    • Collaborate with the Programs Department to lead the evaluation of the FSN Hotline service delivery, by assessing partner effectiveness, and building new infrastructure to enhanceaccessibility and responsiveness.
    • Manage the Family Support Network coordinator in their duties to oversee the FSN Hotline team, and volunteers needed to maintain it.
    • Oversee and expand ICIRR’s Family Support Network Hotline to incorporate live operators to answer calls and provide comprehensive resource support to callers.
    • Work closely with ICIRR’s Family Support Network (FSN) Coordinator to ensure that FSN hotline cases are being integrated into ICIRR’s campaigns and/or leadership development efforts led by our membership
    • Collaborate with the Development Department, the Programs and the Organizing Departments to formulate proposals for funding; seeks other support such as co-sponsors of the hotline and training revenue.
    • Expand programming of the Family Support Network Hotline by incorporating additional legal, social, service resources to enhance its impact.
    • Oversee data collection and reporting on FSN activities, ensuring accountability and effectiveness in program delivery.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with partners, community stakeholders, and ICIRR’s internal FSN team to strengthen the FSN Hotline’s impact.
    • Work with the communications team to develop messaging, outreach materials, and media strategies related to the Family Support Network Hotline.
    • Ensures the KYR presentation, manuals, curriculum, and resources are up to date
    • Responsible for KYR presentations and training as needed
    • Maintain working knowledge of the entire range of issue areas addressed by ICIRR.
    • Travel to meet with member organizations and community members as needed.
    • Work with ICIRR staff on policy, organizing, and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, reliable, reflective, comfortable with accountability, highly communicative, high energy, excellent at building relationships, bilingual and is a self-starter. The FSN Director should be willing to take charge of driving their campaigns, meeting tough deadlines, and making their own schedule. Must reside in the state of Illinois.

    Additionally:

    • We seek to hire people with deep experience living or working in immigrant communities, especially immigrants themselves and the children of immigrants
    • At least 3 years of management experience, particularly in overseeing staff and volunteers.
    • Bilingual language capacity is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills; experience and comfort in public speaking; excellent leadership abilities and superior organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to juggle many different tasks simultaneously and complete them in a timely manner.
    • Knowledge and awareness of policies and legal resources, experience working with immigrants and/or refugees preferred; Some knowledge of the legislative and public policy processes at the local, state or federal levels preferred.
    • Working experience in community organizing and/or advocacy campaigns, and direct service, with some training preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a car are required.
    • Strong leadership, writing and reporting skills.
