Help make organ donation possible for those who want to give the gift of life! The National Living Donor Assistance Center operates a federally funded program to help living organ donors overcome financial barriers like travel expenses, lost wages, and dependent care expenses so they can save a life. We’re seeking a Program Assistant who is organized, detail-oriented and friendly.
What You’ll Do
As a member of our operations team, you’ll make sure organ donors get the support they need through a variety of responsibilities:
- Processing applications: Reviewing incoming applications, checking for completion, accuracy and eligibility.
- Communications: Educating transplant professionals, patients, and the public about the program, providing accurate information and compassionate service.
- Helping approved donors: Notifying and guiding applicants through next steps, helping them understand program benefits and limits.
- Coordinating reimbursements:Managing donor travel accounts by setting up new travel cards, talking to donors about their plans, and making appropriate budgets.
- Processing reimbursements for lost wages and dependent care costs by direct deposit.
- Monitoring donor spending and ensuring program funds are used appropriately.
- Training transplant professionals: Attending professional conferences to meet and educate transplant professionals about the program. (Some travel may be required.)
- Administrative support: Scheduling meetings, fulfilling brochure requests from transplant centers, and performing other duties as assigned.
