MEAL Consultant

Background

The MEAL Assistant / Consultant will support the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning processes for ongoing projects, ensuring activities are tracked, data is collected and analyzed, and lessons learned are documented for continuous improvement.

Scope of Work:

• Support the development and implementation of project MEAL plans.
• Collect quantitative and qualitative data from project activities (surveys, interviews, focus groups).
• Enter, clean, and manage collected data in agreed formats and tools.
• Prepare regular updates on project progress against indicators.
• Support accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaint handling.
• Assist in organizing learning and reflection sessions with the project team.
• Ensure data protection and confidentiality in line with organizational policies.

Deliverables:

• Data collection tools completed as per agreed timelines.
• Clean and organized datasets ready for analysis.
• Monthly progress reports summarizing findings against indicators.
• Documentation of lessons learned and best practices.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Diploma or university degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in MEAL or M&E roles, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
• Strong skills in data collection and management (Excel, Kobo, ODK, or similar tools).
• Good communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
