    Descrição

    Summary

The Period Pills Project is seeking a development consultant to support fundraising and relationship-building efforts during Fall 2026. The consultant will work closely with project leadership to plan and execute two donor engagement events designed to expand awareness of period pills and secure additional funding for our work.

    The consultant will coordinate:

    • An online funder information session for foundation and institutional funders; and
    • An in-person donor cultivation event for individual supporters and prospective major donors.

This short-term contract is expected to require approximately 40–80 hours of work between August and October 2026, at a rate of $100 per hour.

    About The Period Pills Project

The Period Pills Project expands access to options for fertility control that uphold reproductive freedom and provide an alternative pathway for accessing mifepristone and misoprostol. People can take period pills when their menstrual cycle is late and they do not want to be pregnant, without confirming pregnancy. These medications bring on bleeding and end any possible early pregnancy.

Since 2018, The Period Pills Project has worked to make period pills available in the United States through research, advocacy, education, coalition building, and provider outreach. The project has supported research and clinical guidance for period pills, built partnerships with major reproductive health organizations, and led the National Working Group on Period Pills, a coalition of researchers, clinicians, advocates, and communications experts working to expand access and awareness.

As our work grows, we are investing in new fundraising strategies that will support expanded communications, research, coalition-building, provider education, and leadership development. We are in the beginning of a leadership transition, and are especially interested in consultants who are excited to use this project as a way to explore their fit with us, for a longer-term co-directing role that would focus on communications and fundraising. We are hoping to find a professional with deep commitments to RJ, who will work with our existing team of four, where we have a strong focus on uplifting young leaders, especially those with ties to communities that most need access to pills like communities of color, immigrant communities, communities in red states. Our team is intergenerational and we hold our own values of freedom, autonomy, collegiality and respect deeply. We work collaboratively with a minimum of hierarchy, and welcome others who want to explore work in a way differently from many traditional non-profits.

The Period Pills Project is a fiscally sponsored project of Innovations in Reproductive Health Access, a 501(c)(3) organization.

    Scope of Work and Responsibilities

The primary goal of this consulting engagement is to help The Period Pills Project successfully design and execute two fundraising and relationship-building events during Fall 2026.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Event Planning, Coordination and Communication with Donors
    • Develop event plans, timelines, and fundraising goals in collaboration with project leadership.
    • Coordinate logistics and communications for an in-person cultivation event focused on individual donors and prospective supporters in collaboration with leaders who will identify co-hosts and guest list.
    • Assist with invitation strategy, RSVP management, and follow-up communications.
    • Help prepare event materials, including donor communications, and related fundraising materials.
    • Support stewardship and follow-up activities after each event.

    Consultant Qualifications

    The ideal consultant will have:

    • Demonstrated commitment to reproductive justice and bodily autonomy, and a strong interest in innovative strategies for accessing mife and miso.
    • Previous or ongoing development, fundraising, or donor engagement experience within reproductive health, reproductive rights, reproductive justice, abortion access, sexual and reproductive health, or closely related fields.
    • Existing relationships with foundation funders or philanthropic networks relevant to reproductive health and justice work.
    • Experience planning donor cultivation events, fundraising events, briefings, salons, or similar engagement opportunities.
    • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to materials and messaging strategy.
    • Ability to represent emerging and innovative reproductive justice work to a range of audiences.
    • Comfort working in a small, nimble, collaborative work environment.
    • Enthusiasm for supporting the growth of newer leaders and emerging reproductive justice initiatives.
    • Familiarity with period pills, menstrual regulation, abortion access, self-managed abortion, or related reproductive health topics.
