    Summary

    I Live Here I Give Here (ILHIGH) is seeking an experienced, Austin, Texas-based marketing and communications director who is proficient, flexible and highly creative in building and growing brand awareness while staying on top of the latest trends.

    The Director of Marketing & Communications is a full-time salaried position. It reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the ILHIGH team. The position is responsible for ensuring ILHIGH’s marketing and communications initiatives meet the strategic needs of the organization.

    In coordination with the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing & Communications manages the ILHIGH brand and external messaging for the organization across all channels including website, social media, and campaign creative. This role will also offer guidance for future website platform transitions, such as SEO, content writing, and user experience considerations.

    Relationship building is another key component of this position, as it is responsible for managing and driving relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders. The Director of Marketing & Communications also collaborates and flexibly works with internal departments, outside agencies, and contractors to define and implement outreach strategies across a wide ranging audience which includes, nonprofits, donors, corporate partners, and program participants.

    This position will take a data driven approach to increase community awareness of ILHIGH programs and mission, across all platforms. This role also leads strategy and marketing for the organization’s largest program, Amplify Austin Day. The role works towards a return on investment year-over-year across marketing channels and budget, in-kind and paid media partners, social media campaigns, and influencer partnerships to ensure audience conversion rates continue to grow in line with our mission to build a more generous Central Texas.

    The Director of Marketing & Communications will be evaluated based on achievement of goals set in partnership with the Executive Director.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

    Organizational

    • Manage the conception, creation, and execution of all newsletters, social media, blog, website and marketing collateral.
    • Design, direct and execute a social media strategy inclusive of graphics and videos.
    • Project manage all marketing and advertising production and ensure the timely creation and delivery of assets.
    • Develop and implement communications, marketing + public relations strategies, for the organization’s brand, development/fundraising efforts, and specific programs/campaigns.
    • Champion ILHIGH communications and ensure consistent storytelling + messaging cohesion and crisis planning across channels, departments and partnership publications.
    • Create and manage the budget for the Marketing & Communications department.
    • Hire and manage the Marketing & Communications Intern position, as needed.
    • Track marketing and communications metrics + data to identify opportunities for engagement and conversion growth.

    Paid / Earned Media

    • Develop and present media strategies and tactical recommendations using research and knowledge of media trends.
    • Determine paid media budget allocation.
    • Monitor campaigns with strong attention to detail and analyze performance to achieve campaign KPIs above baseline and target goals.
    • Build audience engagement through social media platforms.
    • Work with PR consultants to build media relationships and outreach plans.

    Relationship Management

    • Develop and manage media partnerships.
    • Direct a collaborative relationship between ILHIGH, contractors, and agencies.
    • Develop an influencer campaign for Amplify Austin Day.
    • Collaborate with internal colleagues to create cross-department marketing & communications strategies that work towards departmental goals.

    Program Support & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs & Strategic Events to ensure all program and event materials are in line with the organization’s brand.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Nonprofit & Customer Relations to train ILHIGH Nonprofit Members in best practices for communications, marketing, and social media, and to ensure that all Nonprofit Membership materials are in line with ILHIGH branding.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to ensure all development materials are on brand, sponsorship benefits are executed, and both corporate impact and donor communications are strategically aligned with ILHIGH’s marketing and brand strategy.
    • Create toolkits for various ILHIGH programs, including Amplify Austin Day, to be shared with varying audiences including (but not limited to) Board of Directors, Fundraising Champions, Sponsors, Business Fundraisers, and Nonprofit Members, and Media.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years proven marketing and communications strategy development experience.
    • 3+ years experience leading large-scale campaigns.
    • Must be self-motivated, love to collaborate and work on a team.
    • Must be organized, a strategic thinker, and a strong communicator.
    • Must be results driven, detail oriented with proven planning and execution skills.
    • Must have exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications
    • Must have a passion for local generosity and its impact on community improvement.
    • Be comfortable with both implementing new methods, as well as working with the effective brand, messaging, and processes already in place.
    • Fluent in tracking and evaluating marketing and communications key performance indicators, metrics, and data with strong attention to details and a high degree of accuracy with metrics validation and report formatting.
    • Paid media experience across a diverse range of channels, with proven success targeting prospective and new audiences, and technical understanding of conversion tracking, implementation, and troubleshooting.
    • Technical experience and understanding of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, UTMs, and platform pixel configuration is a plus.
    • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva for social media content and graphic development.
    • Previous experience working at a nonprofit is a plus.
    • Ability to work collaboratively, quickly, and under pressure with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions.
    • Must live in the Austin-area with ability to travel to events and meetings within a 7-county Central Texas region.

    The salary range for this full-time position is $78,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and includes benefits, paid time off and paid holidays. To apply please send your resume to: apply@ilivehereigivehere.org
