Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) is seeking a full-time Development Assistant responsible for gift and data processing to ensure accurate recording and reporting and to produce acknowledgments to donors and members. In addition, this position provides administrative support for FOW's development and communications team while handling a variety of tasks outlined below, as well as other duties that may be assigned. Experience with a CRM database and the full Microsoft Teams and Office Suite is preferred. Reports to the Senior Director of Advancement.
This is a full-time, in-person position with a Monday-Friday schedule. Some weekend and evening availability, as well as reliable transportation, is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Record and report gifts, memberships, and volunteer data, maintaining data accuracy and integrity and following established data standards
- Produce all member/donor correspondence (monthly renewals, acknowledgment letters, mailing member premiums, etc.)
- Maintain FOW online shop, Member Hub and create website donation forms.
- Assist in the development and execution of all fundraising campaigns.
- Serve as the first point of contact for the public, in particular donors and members. Answer and respond to phone calls and e-mails, and forward messages to appropriate staff members as needed.
- Maintain inventory of development materials, member premiums, and supplies.
- Generate routine reports on membership, campaigns, and donor activities.
- Oversee scheduling and serve as initial point of contact for in-park recognition and corporate sponsorship in partnership with program staff and Senior Director of Advancement.
- Provide general administrative support to the development and communications team.
- Work with Business Manager and Controller to reconcile development and finance records.
- Attend and support FOW events as needed. Staff outreach tables at local events several times a year.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to detail. Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, follow established procedures, and prioritize tasks among several assignments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience working with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud NXT or a similar CRM.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to follow written and oral direction involving multiple task assignments
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Able to sit at a standard desk for periods of 4 hours or more and lift up to 25 pounds. (Standing desk and other ergonomic options may be available)
- High School diploma/GED
- Reliable transportation
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends
