    Statement of Work

    Fund Development Consultant

Contract Position – Up to 32 hours per week

Approximately $96,000 annually depending on experience

Background: CCMF is a respected community nonprofit with 47 years of experience delivering restorative and transformative conflict resolution services and training throughout Pima County, Arizona. Since 2022, CCMF has been a standalone community not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization, governed by an operational Board of Directors that holds responsibility for organizational management, strategy, policy, finances, and oversight of program quality. Program delivery is led by trained volunteer mediators/facilitators who provide community mediation, dialogue and listening circles, restorative processes, and training in conflict resolution. Our services provide low-income and vulnerable populations access to conflict resolution services and conflict literacy training they could otherwise not afford – providing trusted ways to safely hold difficult conversations at early conflict stages. We also offer paid services for business and other organizations. As demand for our services continues to grow, we must posture ourselves for long-term operational sustainment. Today, 66% of the organization’s funding comes from contributed income – the majority program specific grants. Our goal is to increase the diversity and amount of contributed income sources with emphasis on growing sustainable operational capacity.

    Summary of Responsibilities/Deliverables:

The Fund Development work will focus on developing, managing, and implementing fundraising strategies to meet and exceed goals and expand public support of CCMF. The principal activity of this professional work is to be externally focused, engaging a portfolio of individuals, foundations and corporations, working with current and prospective donors and grantors to raise funds for CCMF. The work includes setting, in collaboration with the Board, and implementing fundraising priorities, goals and budgets; researching potential grants and developing proposals to obtain grants; identifying and cultivating potential donor and sponsor relationships to raise funds and communicating with current donors to encourage continued giving. This work requires presence in our community – preparing and delivering presentations to stakeholders and potential donors/grantors that tell and sell the CCMF story to achieve fundraising goals. Other deliverables include maintaining donor databases, working with the fundraising committee and overseeing fundraising-related event planning and campaigns as needed.

The work emphasizes organizational leadership, community engagement, and the development and implementation of successful, sustainable, diversified revenue strategies, in collaboration with the CCMF board and key institutional partners. This work is in a fast-paced, results oriented environment with complex and evolving relationships, requiring independent action and initiative.
