    Type: Full-time (38hours a week), 12-month renewable employment contract.

    About this role

    The Coalition for the International Criminal Court is the world’slargest civil societypartnership advancing the global fightagainst impunity for serious international crimes. Its membership and work are facilitated by its Secretariat, with staff in New York, and The Hague.

    The Secretariat of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court is actively looking for a dynamic and passionate senior executive to join its team. The Advocacy Director will provide technical expertise, coordination and support to the CICC secretariat staff in New York and The Hague. This role will focus on facilitating strategic advocacy efforts in support of CICC’s work on global justice and accountability. The Director will also play a key role in data tracking, impact reporting, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring an effective information flow and guiding advocacy work across the team.

    This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a demonstrated commitment to advancing international justice. As part of a globally dispersed team, the Advocacy Director must be highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to working across different time zones, legal/political contexts and cultural sensitivities.

    Main tasks and responsibilities

    • Stakeholder and Member Engagement:
      • Provide technical and organizational guidance and support for regional and thematic advocacy work
      • Support membership expansion efforts, including outreach to new organizations and capacity building for existing member organizations
      • Lead strategic engagement with key international justice stakeholders
      • Provide support to Secretariat staff on advocacy initiatives, professional development and stakeholder engagement
    • Global Advocacy
      • Coordinate and guide global advocacy efforts including identifying priorities, developing campaigns, and supporting staff with implementation of campaigns and ensuring effective communication of advocacy work
      • Oversee advocacy and engagement with Coalition members across the globe to support effective engagement and support collective efforts
      • Lead engagement in regional mechanisms including the EU Genocide Network and EU working parties
      • Support engagement efforts in relevant facilitations through the Assembly of States Parties and with individual States Parties.
      • Oversee publication of key policy papers and issue briefings.

    Qualifications requested

    • Commitment to the mandate of the Coalition for the ICC.
    • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant area such as Law, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Development Studies, International Relations or other.
    • At least ten years of (senior) management experience with demonstrable knowledge of leadership and management principles and practices relevant to international non-profit organisations.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, networking and communication skills;
    • Demonstrated experience in developing a constructive, positive, and safe work-place culture;
    • Solid experience in fundraising and donor relations. This includes managing large donor-funded projects, including budgeting, financial management, audits and MEAL.
    • Knowledge of security frameworks and procedures.
    • Native or full professional proficiency in written and oral English, and in French or Spanish
