ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF MANHATTAN

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) is a steward of early childhood, helping all children grow and develop into their best selves. Through our programs on-site, online, and around the five boroughs, CMOM nurtures the next generation of creative global citizens as they learn through exploration and play. Our offerings embrace the intersection of the arts, sciences, and humanities and include exhibitions, classes, workshops, performances, and festivals. Our programs and exhibits are designed to address the multiple ways children learn and to help parents understand and support their children’s development. CMOM’S special areas of focus include early childhood education, creativity, health, and world cultures. The museum’s programming reflects the rich cultural diversity, energy, and resilience of New York City itself and we aim to ensure our programs are available to those families who might not otherwise have access.

Founded in 1973 as a neighborhood organization, CMOM has grown over the years into a beloved destination and resource for children, families, and educators from across the five boroughs and from around the world. The museum welcomes 250,000 visitors each year to its Upper West Side location and engages hundreds of thousands more through its outreach programs in partnership with schools, libraries, shelters, and Head Start centers throughout New York City; its touring exhibitions; and its online tools and curricula.

    ABOUT THE POSITION

CMOM seeks a strategic, relationship-oriented Corporate Partnerships Manager to drive philanthropic and marketing partnerships within this sector. Key activities include overseeing our corporate memberships program, securing sponsorships for special events, developing funding proposals for operating and capital initiatives, and crafting strategic corporate engagement opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to expand a high-potential revenue stream in advance of CMOM’s move to a new, state-of-the-art museum on Central Park West in 2028.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will manage all aspects of the corporate membership portfolio, cultivate and steward corporate supporters, and develop compelling packages and campaigns that align with CMOM’s mission and the interests of NYC’s corporate community. The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, a flair for relationship-building, and a proactive mindset to grow revenue, visibility, and engagement over the next three years and beyond.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as a key member of a team responsible for leveraging CMOM’s programming and its ongoing capital and endowment campaign to grow philanthropic income across all revenue streams
    • Manage CMOM’s corporate partnerships portfolio—including corporate memberships, sponsorships, marketing partnerships, and philanthropic corporate grants for both operating and capital campaigns—ensuring thoughtful outreach, timely renewals, stewardship, and benefit fulfillment
    • Develop and implement a multi-year growth strategy for corporate engagement, in collaboration with the Director of Development, aligned with CMOM’s new museum’s construction and launch
    • Support the CMOM Leadership Team in securing 6- and 7-figure gifts for the ongoing capital campaign as directed.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all corporate partners, maintaining strong relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service
    • Cultivate and solicit a growing portfolio of corporate partners, with a focus on $5,000–$25,000+ relationships across membership, sponsorship, and grant categories
    • Lead outreach and benefit fulfillment for corporate sponsorships tied to CMOM’s flagship events, including Sunday Funday, the annual gala, and other initiatives
    • Track and analyze progress toward revenue and engagement goals across corporate giving streams; share insights and recommendations to support strategic refinement
    • Draft compelling proposals, sponsorship decks, grant narratives, and budgets that clearly articulate CMOM’s value to corporate audiences and align with funder priorities
    • Conduct research to identify prospective partners whose philanthropic or marketing goals align with CMOM’s programs and audiences
    • Partner with senior leadership and trustees to leverage networks and support corporate prospecting and outreach
    • Represent CMOM at external meetings, networking events, and industry convenings to increase visibility and expand corporate relationships
    • Collaborate with Communications and Programs teams to design and deliver high-impact partnership opportunities, including branded initiatives, employee engagement experiences, and sponsored public programs
    • Maintain and regularly update corporate materials, including web content, brochures, pitch decks, and donor recognition assets
    • Maintain accurate records of all corporate partners in Raiser’s Edge NXT, including contacts, giving history, proposal pipelines, and benefit tracking
    • Manage deadlines and deliverables using internal systems and project management tools

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Passion for CMOM’s mission and a collaborative, creative, and entrepreneurial approach
    • 5+ years of experience in corporate partnerships, fundraising, or business development—preferably in a nonprofit or cultural setting
    • Proven ability to independently manage a portfolio of corporate partners and cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships
    • Successful track record of securing and stewarding five-figure corporate gifts, including memberships, sponsorships, and grants
    • Strong proposal writing and pitch development skills, with experience crafting compelling, tailored sponsorship packages
    • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously
    • Confident managing up and working collaboratively with senior leadership and trustees
    • Familiarity with New York City’s corporate philanthropic landscape is a plus
    • Experience using donor databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and related tools to track activity, manage relationships, and generate reports
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for event support
