    The Hunger Project (THP) is a global non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist. We are a global movement of individuals and organizations in 22 countries around the world. Across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America, The Hunger Project works in 9,500 rural communities, reaching 12.5 million people. Our programs are based on an innovative, holistic approach, which supports people living in rural communities to become agents of their own development, address root causes, and make sustainable progress in hunger and poverty reduction.

    Current Hunger Project office locations include:

    USA: Global Office in New York City and multiple home offices.

    13 Program Countries: Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Malawi, Mexico, Mozambique, Peru, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia.

    8 Partner Countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Associate, Global Operations supports THP’s global operations, with a focus on operational efficiency, compliance, cybersecurity, and HR processes across 12 Program Countries. Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Operations, the Senior Associate plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day global operational needs, vendor and consultant coordination, policy implementation, and organizational integrity.

    The position is full-time, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime. Candidate must reside in the USA. The candidate must have eligibility to work in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship in the future. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 USD, not including an annualized cafeteria plan allowance currently fixed at $18,000.

    Essential Functions

    Global Operations

    • In close collaboration with the Associate Director, Global Operations, support the implementation and maintenance of global operational guidelines and processes.
    • Assist in coordinating IT vendor relationships and maintaining cybersecurity protocols and training initiatives.
    • Support vendor and pro-bono relationships for key services including IT, travel, and legal counsel.
    • Support global travel operations including booking systems, compliance, and vendor management.
    • Maintain the operational records, such as country tax exemptions, registrations and organizational charts, and facilitate compliance with document retention and destruction policy.

    Supporting Policy Compliance

    • Coordinate the global policy compliance tracking and training system including staff attestations under the direction of the Associate Director, Global Operations.
    • Assist with documentation collection for internal/external audits and anti-terrorism policy compliance.
    • Maintain records and documentation related to safety and security policies and protocols.
    • Draft and maintain operational guidelines in collaboration with Program Countries under guidance from the Associate Director, Global Operations.

    Human Resources Support

    • Provide logistical and administrative support for global recruitment processes, onboarding, and compensation and benefit benchmarking initiatives.
    • Supports the administration of global HR policies.
    • Assist with the coordination of leadership development and coaching opportunities for global staff.

    Safety, Security and Global Integrity

    • Support the implementation of safety and security procedures, including drafting travel briefs to support global staff travel.
    • Support documentation and coordinate follow-up on internal incident cases in close contact with the Associate Director, Global Operations.
    • Assist with preparation of reports for senior leadership and the Board on integrity and security matters.

    General

    • Provide project coordination and administrative support to the Associate Director for key strategic initiatives.
    • Represent the Global Operations function in internal meetings and working groups as needed.
    • Foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and accountability throughout THP.

    Qualifications

    1. Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed):
    • Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Operations, HR, or a related field.
    1. Work Experience (Minimum needed)
    • Minimum Required: 3 or more years of professional experience in global operations, nonprofit administration, or project management.
    • Preferred: Experience working in or with international NGOs and remote, cross-cultural teams.
    1. Skills
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with operational systems and project management tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfort with databases and new technology.
    • Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work across diverse teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • High-level of discretion and confidentiality.
    1. Special Skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite, with expertise in Excel.
    • High level of knowledge with Google Suite and tools.
    1. Other
    • Fluency in English required; proficiency in French or Spanish is preferred.
    • Ability to work with a shifting daily schedule, including outside of regular working hours and days.
    • Ability to travel domestically, and work in multiple time zones, as necessary.
