NLP is the country’s leading provider of news literacy education and works with districts and educators in all 50 states, primarily through our signature e-learning platform, Checkology®, and weekly educator newsletter, The Sift®. Where you fit in

The News Literacy Project empowers educators to teach middle and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age. We are at an exciting inflection point for our work, and we are making critical investments to rapidly scale our growth and impact. To that end, we are seeking a Senior Manager of District Partnerships, East who can expand our partnership with Clever into a broader portfolio of strategic district partnerships across key East Coast states. This is a great opportunity for you to join an ambitious organization and support every aspect of its educator partnership growth efforts nationwide. We’re looking for someone who can have an immediate and meaningful impact on our work, is unafraid to collaborate with strategic district decision-makers and has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

This position reports to Senior Vice President of Educator Engagement.

    About the position

As a member of NLP’s educator engagement team, you will execute the organization’s district-level outreach plans and foster partnerships with districts while expanding NLP awareness in the territory assigned. You will directly oversee communication, onboarding and implementation of the NLP partnership strategy, designed to expand and strengthen district partnerships.

Specifically, in this job, you will:

    • Develop and manage 30-50 district partnerships in key states.
    • Set a strategy for individual district partnerships based on districts’ implementation priorities.
    • Oversee partner onboarding for the use of NLP resources via Clever and free professional development services.
    • Track progress and share information to assist districts in achieving goals.
    • Maintain partnerships database, tracking details and status of district and state-level partners.
    • Prepare presentations and workshops for conferences and other training opportunities.
    • Take on other educator engagement activities as assigned by the SVP.

This full-time position is virtual. Highly qualified candidates who live in, and are authorized to work in, the United States are encouraged to apply.

    • Computer skills that include the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
    • Experience and comfort with working in a virtual work environment (in terms of both technology tools and personal skills).
    • Ability to do more with less, making the most of limited resources and staff capacity to achieve ambitious results.
    • Ability to travel nationwide (up to 30% time during peak meeting season).

    Our Hiring Process
