    Position Summary

    The FSN Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Deportation Defense and will play a central role in supporting immigrant communities during immediate need by leading rapid response efforts to connect affected individuals and families to the Family Support Hotline and other available direct support resources. This coordinator will also lead training for emerging and existing support groups across the state and work closely with the Senior Director of Deportation Defense.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with legal service providers, community-based organizations, and hotline partners to support individuals and families facing detention or deportation.
    • Facilitate and Rapid Response training across the state, ensuring materials reflect current policies and procedures.
    • Onboard new Rapid Response teams into the existing network of Rapid Response teams.
    • Support coordination of the Rapid Response network, including meetings and training to increase confidence and engagement
    • Identify and escalate deportation cases with campaign potential in coordination with policy and organizing teams.
    • Ensures Rapid Response presentation, manuals, curriculum, and resources are up to date
    • Maintain working knowledge of the entire range of issue areas addressed by ICIRR.
    • Travel to meet with member organizations and community members as needed.
    • Work with ICIRR staff on policy, organizing, and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, reliable, reflective, comfortable with accountability, highly communicative, high energy, excellent at building relationships, bilingual, and a self-starter. The FSN Director should be willing to take charge of driving campaigns, meeting tough deadlines, and making their own schedule.

    Additionally:

    • We seek to hire people with deep experience living or working in immigrant communities, especially immigrants themselves and the children of immigrants.
    • At least 3 years of management experience, particularly overseeing staff and volunteers.
    • Bilingual language capacity is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills; experience and comfort in public speaking; excellent leadership abilities and superior organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to juggle many different tasks simultaneously and complete them promptly.
    • Knowledge and awareness of policies and legal resources, as well as experience working with immigrants and/or refugees, are preferred. Some knowledge of the legislative and public policy processes at the local, state, or federal levels is also preferred.
    • Working experience in community organizing and/or advocacy campaigns, and direct service, with some training preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a car are required.
    • Strong leadership, writing, and reporting skills.
