    Position Summary

    This is a full-time leadership position with responsibility for two key functions: Director of VTH's Outreach Program and Licensed Clinician for the seven-bed VA Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Clinical Treatment (CT) Program. Time is divided equally between the two functions. The person in this role must be able to work the hours required to meet the business needs of the organization, including occasional work beyond 40 hours.

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Directly supervises: Outreach Specialist, Housing Specialist

    Location: Based at VTH's Alfiero Outreach Center, 1297 Purchase Street, New Bedford, MA, with regular time at the GPD Clinical Treatment Program site.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time

    Responsibilities

    Outreach Director (50%)

    • Direct day-to-day operations of VTH's Outreach Program
    • Supervise, coach, and complete performance evaluations for the Outreach Specialist and Housing Specialist
    • Liaison to Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services
    • Oversee community outreach and engagement activities connecting homeless and at-risk veterans and their families to VTH services
    • Oversee housing search, placement, and stabilization support delivered by the Housing Specialist
    • Represent VTH at community events, partner meetings, and public presentations
    • Maintain outreach program records and report outcomes to VTH leadership and applicable funders

    Clinical Counseling and Case Management, GPD CT Program (50%)

    • Conduct individual therapy sessions with the seven CT program participants at least bi-weekly
    • Conduct or oversee group therapy sessions at least three times weekly
    • Coordinate participant access to community AA/NA meetings for veterans with a substance use diagnosis
    • Provide case management for CT program participants
    • Provide crisis intervention, including triage of clinical acuity and appropriate treatment recommendations
    • Evaluate treatment efficacy in concert with the Executive Director

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
    • Active Massachusetts licensure as an LICSW, PsyD, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT
    • Minimum of two years of clinical experience, particularly with addiction and trauma
    • Experience working with government-funded programs
    • Prior supervisory or team-lead experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer literacy

    Desired

    • Experience reporting to government funders
    • Public speaking or presentation experience
    • Veteran status or experience working with veterans
