    ABOUT LMCC

LMCC is Manhattan’s Arts Council—a dynamic non-profit organization with a 50 year history of supporting and connecting artists and communities throughout Manhattan.

Founded in 1973, LMCC serves hundreds of artists and tens of thousands of audiences each year through robust Re-granting and Artist Residency Programs as well as a dynamic calendar of free public art events throughout Manhattan and at the Arts Center at Governors Island—a 40,000 square foot arts center that is activated year round with public programs and art exhibitions.

We are a 15 person team of passionate and devoted arts leaders and administrators, providing funding, studio and rehearsal space, professional development, and leadership in cultural planning and advocacy. All activities and operations are supported by a $6M budget and the leadership of an engaged Board of Directors.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

LMCC seeks a full-time Individual Giving Manager to manage the execution and growth of an individual donor base across the organization, primarily through a new membership program. This mid-level role is a new position that reports to the Director of Development, and will be tasked with scaling a new audience of individual donors with an eye to strengthening community relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented development professional with a proven ability to execute data-driven campaigns, manage donor relationships, and build lasting infrastructure.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual Giving & Membership Program Management

    • Work with the Director of Development to execute and manage the launch and day-to-day administration of LMCC’s new tiered membership program, starting in Spring 2026.
    • Implement and maintain established membership tiers and stewardship protocols to ensure a high level of support for members and the broader LMCC community.
    • Manage the execution of targeted, data-driven annual campaigns and appeals, working closely with the new Director of Marketing and utilizing the organization's new CRM system.
    • Lead prospecting and cultivation efforts for individual donors with the overall goal of securing at least 200 members by the end of Year Two, with a minimum of 75 recurring supporters, to build a reliable base of predictable income.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for Creative Currents, LMCC’s inaugural Associate Board, leveraging their networks as key ambassadors to activate the membership program from day one.
    • Work with the Director of Marketing and Director of Development to create strategies for the goal of more deeply engaging LMCC’s artist alumni.

    Cultivation Event Development & Management

    • Work with the Director of Development to create and execute 4–6 membership and cultivation events annually, primarily at the Arts Center at Governors Island (ACGI).
    • Act as the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders for all cultivation events.
    • Collaborate closely with the new Director of Marketing and Events Manager to ensure LMCC’s programing is also aligned with overall development strategy around stewardship and campaign execution.
    • Support the Director of Development in producing LMCC’s annual Gala, the Downtown Dinner.

    Team Support & Capacity Building

    • Support the Director in creating and implementing department wide systems and strategy with the goal of increasing staff capacity and efficiency.
    • Work with the Director of Development to create and track ongoing KPI’s for the department.
    • Support the department's administrative functions as needed.

    • 3+ years of progressive professional experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or institutional advancement.
    • Demonstrated ability to execute complex development plans, from managing program tiers to implementing stewardship protocols.
    • Strong familiarity with donor database/CRM management and using data to inform and evaluate campaign performance.
    • Proven ability to work effectively across departments (Marketing, Events, Development).
    • A strong commitment to the arts, cultural equity, and LMCC’s mission as Manhattan’s arts council.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling solicitations and manage a high volume of personalized donor correspondence.
