Mobile Response Team (MRT) Advocate – Trafficking Specialist
Family Violence Law Center (FVLC) helps diverse communities in Alameda County heal from domestic violence and sexual assault, advocating for justice and healthy relationships. We provide survivor-centered legal and crisis intervention services, offer prevention education for youth and other community members, and engage in policy work to create systemic change.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Crisis Services Manager, the MRT Advocate – Trafficking Specialist provides emergency crisis intervention to survivors of trafficking who are picked up by the Oakland Police Department during vice raids. This includes on-site crisis counseling, safety planning, option assessment and referral to other agencies and service providers. The MRT Advocate works – Trafficking Specialist closely with law enforcement, emergency medical teams, medical sites, and community-based agencies.

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, part-time on-call, 2-6 shifts per month. Stipend of $225 per shift, usually 5 pm to 9 am but hours may vary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include settings of the court room, community places, and/or office environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
