    ABOUT THE POSITION

    Interfaith America’s Board of Directors is a diverse and highly accomplished group of individuals who represent a wide array of professional backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. They share a common passion for Interfaith America’s work and mission and are dedicated to its future success. Interfaith America’s Board of Directors provides essential strategic, financial and operational support to Interfaith America’s senior leadership and staff. The Board Relations & Donor Events Manager will have the opportunity to work closely with Interfaith America’s Advancement team to support the board’s important leadership of Interfaith America.

    Responsibilities:

    Board Relations Support 40%:

    • Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Chair of the Board of Directors and the Chief of External Affairs for all board-related matters.
    • Coordinate all aspects of Board meetings and Board events inclusive of travel, A/V, room setup, mailings, meals, etc.
    • Support Board Committees and “Flight Teams” by organizing meetings, compiling materials, and managing communications.
    • Attend all Board and Committee meetings to take minutes and ensure adherence to operating policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Draft Board correspondence the for Chief of External Affairs.
    • Manage the Board recruitment process, including tracking candidates, maintaining the composition matrix, and preparing election materials.
    • Oversee onboarding and orientation of new members, including organizing sessions and preparing welcome packets.
    • Facilitate strategic engagement of Board members in programs and events in coordination with the Chief of External Affairs and VP of External Affairs.

    Event Management & Administrative Support 30%:

    • Manage the Board calendar, including scheduling Committee meetings and related events.
    • Track Board member terms, manage annual documentation and evaluations, and facilitate transitions to emeritus status.
    • Process travel expense reports for Board meetings.
    • Maintain Board members' participation and records in Salesforce; organize and maintain all Board materials, documents, policies and governance information in Dropbox and SharePoint.
    • Monitor VIP and Board-related news via Google Alerts and ensure relevant updates are communicated internally.
    • Coordinate hospitality outreach to VIPs and Board members (e.g. birthdays, significant milestones).
    • Lead planning and execution of fundraising cultivation and stewardship events.
    • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Advancement and team on event strategy, messaging, and materials
    • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Advancement Support 30%:

    • Maintain and update Board and VIP records in Salesforce, including contact history, relationships, and giving history.
    • Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team to manage a curated library of content (e.g., articles, podcasts, one-pagers) for Board engagement and donor cultivation and stewardship.
    • Prepare supplemental materials for funder submissions including board bios, head shots, and staff demographic information.

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of high-level administrative assistance experience
    • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects from multiple stakeholders
    • Collaborative nature; flexibility and agility in problem-solving
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent PowerPoint skills and strong competence in other Microsoft Office software
    • Experience with, or willingness to learn and utilize, organization-wide constituent relationship management software (Salesforce)
    • Experience managing and maintaining confidential and sensitive information
    • Authorization to work in the United States

    Preferred Qualifications (not required)

    • High level of religious literacy and fluency in diversity, pluralism, and inclusion
    • 2-3 years of board of directors' support experience
    • Event management experience

    Supervisor: Assistant Director of Advancement

    Leadership Level: Manager

    Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, plus excellent benefits. Please read more about our benefits here.

    Hours: 40 hours per week, 9am – 5pm CST

    Location: This is a Chicago based position, with flexibility for hybrid work
