    Descrição

QA Commons is seeking a highly organized, resourceful Project Coordinator to support an interesting statewide initiative at the intersection of education, careers, workforce development, and public policy.

This is a small, part-time role—approximately 4 hours per week—with an opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of researchers, educators, consultants, and technical experts on a complex, real-world project. The team is helping a state think through how students move from early career exploration to education, training, and work—and how schools, families, employers, workforce systems, and technology can better support that journey.

The Project Coordinator will play a practical role in making that work happen, combining project coordination with light research and exposure to substantive discussions about education and workforce systems.

This could be a particularly good fit for someone who likes learning new things, enjoys working with experienced people, gets satisfaction from bringing order to complexity, and naturally notices what needs to happen next. The right person will be curious, dependable, comfortable working independently, and interested in understanding the larger purpose behind the tasks they are doing.

    Compensation: $44/hour

Hours: Approximately 4 hours/week, with some variation across the project

    Location: Remote

    Position type: Part-time

    About QA Commons

QA Commons is a national nonprofit focused on strengthening the connection between education and employment. The organization works with colleges and universities, K–12 partners, workforce organizations, employers, and public systems to improve career readiness, employability, and education-to-work pathways.

    What You’ll Do

    • Maintain the project workplan, calendar, deadlines, milestones, and action items.
    • Schedule and coordinate interviews, focus groups, team meetings, and other project activities.
    • Participate in occasional Zoom meetings; prepare agendas or materials as needed and capture concise notes, decisions, and follow-up items.
    • Keep project files, stakeholder information, research materials, and working documents organized and up to date.
    • Conduct targeted background research and assist with interview summaries, research matrices, stakeholder lists, and survey administration.
    • Help prepare tables, graphics, appendices, presentations, and other project deliverables.
    • Keep an eye on what is coming next—following up on outstanding items and flagging missing information, approaching deadlines, or other issues early.
    • Take on other discrete project-support tasks as needs emerge.

    What We’re Looking For

QA Commons is looking for someone who is reliable, thoughtful, curious, and collaborative—and who brings both professionalism and a sense of humor to the work. A strong candidate will:

    • Be exceptionally organized and attentive to detail.
    • Take ownership of assignments and reliably follow them through to completion.
    • Be comfortable working independently, figuring out reasonable next steps, and asking good questions when needed.
    • Exercise good judgment about when to move something forward independently and when to check in.
    • Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in virtual meetings, and respond constructively to feedback.
    • Have strong writing, proofreading, and document-management skills.
    • Be comfortable with tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, and Asana and able to quickly learn straightforward platforms such as Airtable, Qualtrics, and similar tools.

Experience in education, nonprofits, consulting, research, workforce development, or public-sector projects is helpful but not required. We are especially interested in candidates who are curious about education-to-work pathways and career development.

    What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means becoming a trusted source of project support—someone the team can hand something to and feel confident that it will move forward.

Meetings get scheduled. Action items get captured and followed up on. Files can be found. Deadlines don't disappear. Questions are raised before they become problems. When circumstances change, the coordinator helps figure out what needs to happen next.

The project is dynamic, and not every task or circumstance can be anticipated in advance. The right person will be comfortable working within clear overall expectations while using judgment about the details.

    About the Schedule

The role is expected to average approximately four hours per week, although hours may fluctuate depending on project activity. Some availability during standard U.S. business hours will be necessary for Zoom meetings and time-sensitive coordination. Most work can otherwise be completed flexibly.
