Join us for door-to-door canvassing in the Lehigh Valley!
Pennsylvania is ground zero for the fight for a more just economy. UNITE HERE is looking for students, recent graduates, and working-class people interested in learning the skills necessary to organize and fight for economic justice, fairer workplaces, and a multiracial democracy.
Community Canvassing with UNITE HERE is a hands-on learning experience. Canvassers will:
- Have organizing conversations with local community members and build coalitions with other groups to fight for the Pennsylvania we deserve
- Learn how to have deep organizing conversations about the things that matter to you and your community
- Get involved in the movement to build worker power in Eastern and North-Eastern PA.

Qualifications:
The canvasser position is an entry-level position. No experience with canvassing is necessary. Successful applicants, however, will have the following characteristics:
- Punctual and reliable
- Good communication skills
- Outgoing personality - enjoys meeting and talking to people
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Committed to advancing immigrants’ rights, renters' rights, and workers’ rights
- Interested in/passionate about voting and civic participation
Terms of Employment:
- The Community Canvasser position is a full-time position
- The Community Canvasser position is a temporary position
- Applicants will also be eligible for future positions
- Canvassers with interest and demonstrated capacity will also have the opportunity for promotion to leadership positions on our canvass team.

Pay: $20.00 per hour.
Benefits: Excellent health benefits available at $5/week.
Schedule:
Our current canvass schedule is as follows (all times are subject to change):
Tuesday-Saturday: 11 am – 7 pm with a 1-hr lunch break from 2-3 (paid!)
Sunday and Monday: off.
