    Descrição

    Responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and oversight to the BOLM Men’s Shelter in a way that reflects BOLM’s mission, vision, core values, and purposes. The Shelter Manager (SM) will orient and support participants staying at BOLM, assisting with basic needs, ensuring safety, security, and adherence to house guidelines in a grace-filled way. The SM will oversee the front desk and security to ensure a safe environment for participants, including administering drug and breathalyzer tests and supervising all common areas of the mission. The Shelter Manager will reflect personal integrity in attitude and behavior toward guests, volunteers, participants, and staff. The SM will maintain accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information, notifying appropriate staff members of situations requiring action or attention. Must work ocassional weekend days.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate is one who leads with a servant's heart - willing to get their hands dirty and come alongside their team to ensure success, filling gaps where needed.

    • Communicate a ministry perspective that aligns with a Biblical approach to grace and boundaries.
    • Responsible for the daily operation of the facility and residential programs, ensuring compliance with all oversight entities.
    • Establish effective relationships of trust with residents.
    • Understand, articulate and model a perspective that balances the Biblical concepts of grace and justice.
    • Supervise Guest Service Coordinators, Interns, kitchen staff and other support staff to ensure excellence in the services provided at BOLM.
    • Scheduling, coaching, and evaluation of departmental staff
    • Utilize computerized tracking (Mission Tracker) for key operational metrics.
    • Maintain all recordkeeping and documentation in a thorough and timely manner; maintain client confidentiality.
    • Participate in open, collaborative communication with other personnel, consulting with Leadership as necessary to ensure compliance with BOLM standards and policies.
    • Work in partnership to support the Program Director and Development Director in achieving overall BOLM goals.
    • Responsible for procuring shelter supplies, placing orders, and ensuring timely delivery, practicing good stewardship in coordination with the Business Manager.
    • Manage kitchen operations to ensure compliance with the health department and food bank. Ensure safe food handling, preparation and healthy meals.
    • Work collaboratively with other BOLM programs to assist in coordination and delivery of services.
    • Responsible for the appearance, organization, and client flow in shelter.
    • Lead Support Groups, Bible Studies and teach Program Classes as assigned.
    • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation and debriefing in situations of conflict, stress, and trauma.
    • Work collaboratively with other BOLM management and staff to advance the ministry of BOLM; attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
    • Complete monthly report and submit by deadline for compilation of monthly reports. Complete other reporting as directed, ensuring compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies and partner organizations.
    • Conduct relevant assessments of Shelter guests
    • Model servant leadership
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Computer literate – proficient in Word, Excel, internet, and email applications

    • Knowledge of co-occurring disorder; familiarity with the mental health and substance abuse systems.
    • Valid state driver’s license; driving record acceptable to insurance carriers

    Benefícios

    Group Health Insurance – Available to regular employees (EE) who are scheduled and work 35+ hours weekly

    • EE can begin contribution immediately, upon hire.
    • BOLM matches FT employee contribution, up to 3% after six (6) months of employment.

    State Disability Insurance (SDI) & Unemployment Insurance (UI)

    • State-administered plans, paid for through mandatory EE payroll contribution.
    • SDI includes Paid Family Leave (PFL) and Disability Insurance (DI)

    Workers Compensation Insurance

    • Funded entirely by employer.
    • Covers job related injury or illness.

    Life Insurance

    • Available, paid for by EE, through payroll deduction.

    Holidays

    • Nine (9) paid holidays per year have been rolled into PTO.
    • The offices will be closed on four of these holidays: July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

    Paid Time Off

    • PTO accrues per pay period and includes holidays, vacation, and personal time.
    1. 19 days accrued annually, year 1 through the completion of year
    • 24 days annually at year 4 through the completion of year 10
    • 29 days annually at year 11+

    Sick

    • Sick time accrues at one hour of paid sick time for every 40 hours worked.
    • Sick time may accrue in a non-compensable sick bank up to 200 hours.

    Business Passport Card (Orca)/Parking Stall

    • Available upon hire, funded entirely by employer.
    • Allocated parking space available to employees who can show that public transit would be a hardship or anyone who needs their vehicle to do business activities.

    On Going Education

    • EE may request assistance for professional development up to $2,000/year.

    Free Meals

    Nível de Proficiência do Idioma

    • Associate degree, preferred, in relevant field.
    • Minimum of 5 years related experience with increasing responsibilities.
    • Experience using database management tools.
    • Previous experience working with homeless, addicted, mentally ill, desirable.
    • CPR and First Aid certified
    • Bi-lingual a plus.
    • Be able and willing to share the Gospel and participate in the ministry activities of Bread of Life.
    • Subscribe to Bread of Life’s Statement of Faith and Qualifications for Employment upon hire and continuously while employed.
    • Adhere to the Bread of Life Employee Handbook.
