    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Program Associate is a new role supporting Wild Earth Allies’ programs and partners. As part of a lean, high-performing team, this position offers broad exposure to program operations, strategic planning, and day-to-day execution. The Associate will assist with all elements of program administration, operations, and partner support. They will contribute to program implementation and fundraising efforts by drafting proposals, reports, and other written deliverables.

    This is an ideal role for someone who thrives as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team and takes pride in being a strong writer. It offers hands-on exposure to an international conservation non-profit within a growing organization. The Program Associate reports to the Director of Science & Impact.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Program Funding

    • Support proposal development and writing for foundation, government, and other funders.
    • Contribute to smooth grant cycle implementation and reporting in collaboration with the Development team.
    • Assist the Program team in managing key donor relationships.
    • Collaborate with the Communications team to craft compelling collateral for current and prospective funders.
    • Contribute to additional writing projects as needed, such as fundraising materials and program publications.
    • Maintain a calendar of key international events, conferences, awards, and fundraising calls, such as global COP meetings, topic-specific conferences, and multi-national public funding opportunities.

    Program Operations & Partner Support

    • Be well-versed in annual plans, progress, and strategies of each program and partner.
    • Assist with tracking progress against annual workplans with quarterly reporting and impact monitoring for 8+ programs.
    • Assist partners as required, such as editing written materials and reviewing draft budgets and workplans.
    • Create and manage annual partnership agreements, sub-grant agreements, and MOUs; coordinate renewals and updates with program leaders and partner organizations, as needed.
    • Manage field equipment purchases and delivery to partner organizations across 8+ countries, ensuring completion within specified budgets and timelines.
    • Support the completion of semi-annual program reports for the Board of Directors, including drafting and editing key program sections.
    • Support information management and create organizing structures for program files on Dropbox, Salesforce, and other platforms as needed.
    • Ensure up-to-date program information is available for external communications materials, liaising with the Program and Communications teams.

    Other special projects and support to the Program Team as required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven ability to author concise and compelling written pieces, such as proposals, reports, or other external-facing documents with minimal editing and oversight.
    • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
    • Track record of being highly organized and managing multiple simultaneous tasks.
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with the varied formats and requirements of different funding institutions.
    • Willingness to take initiative and work as part of a global team – collaboration, open communication, and optimism are highly valued.
    • Passion for nature conservation and sustainable livelihood development, coupled with deep respect for local knowledge, values, and practices.
    • Familiarity with conservation topics and frameworks preferred.
    • Prior experience fundraising from institutional donors for international conservation preferred.
    • French and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.
    • Advanced degree in natural sciences or related field preferred.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS

    Position: Full-time, Exempt

    Location: Chevy Chase, MD office; hybrid position with 3+ days in the office per week.

    Compensation: Excellent benefits and competitive salary commensurate with experience; range $70K-74K.

    Travel/schedule: Domestic and/or international travel, as needed. This position may require working outside of normal business hours to engage across time zones with staff and partners globally.
