The Role
The Debate and Drama Coordinator is a full-time role that supports the Director of Debate and Drama to ensure Philadelphia youth in grades K-12th grade are connected with high quality Out-of-School-Time drama and speech/debate programs where they can be positively engaged and challenged to learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment. This includes building trusting relationships with school leaders and out-of-school-time professionals, recruiting teachers, out-of-school-time professionals and community volunteers to act as debate and drama after school club leaders, coordinating drama teaching artists and debate consultants to provide instructional support and content expertise to existing after school clubs, and supporting debate league matches and tournaments and drama club performances.
Key Work
Debate and Drama Club Recruitment, Training, and Support – assist with the recruitment, training, and on-going support of debate and drama after school clubs and club leaders in the ASAP Debate and Drama program.
Program Event Planning – support the planning and implementing of Philadelphia Scholastic Debate League matches, Middle School Debate tournaments, Summer Speech Academy, and drama showcase.
Data Collection – assist in collecting student and club-level data to measure impact of ASAP Debate and Drama programs.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management – assist in recruiting volunteers to support ASAP debate and drama club activities and events; manage the volunteer clearance process; provide trainings on ASAP debate and drama club activities for volunteers.

Location
ASAP’s office is located in Center City Philadelphia. ASAP has a hybrid office culture, where staff are able to work remotely two days per week. Staff also work onsite, visiting clubs at schools and community locations and organizing events at cultural institutions and other community venues.
Position Reports To: Director of Debate and Drama
Compensation + Benefits
The salary range for this role is between $45,000-52,000, depending on candidate’s level of experience and relevant skills. Employees are expected to work occasional evenings and weekends when programs demand.
