Location: Remote with occasional in-person time
OVERVIEW:
Greenlight America is the leading grassroots campaign force powering the nation’s clean energy transition at the local level. Founded in 2023, we educate, empower, and mobilize volunteers to make their voices heard and win permitting approvals for clean energy projects in their communities. In the past two years we have advanced roughly 15 gigawatts of clean power to the grid, approximately 10x the size of the Hoover Dam.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Data Engineer will support Greenlight’s core data infrastructure, ensuring that data on clean energy projects, local jurisdictions, and decision makers is reliable, connected, and actionable. This role will transform messy data into structured outputs through well-orchestrated data pipelines. The Data Engineer will leverage LLMs and strong systems-design skills to solve complex problems in identity resolution and text analysis. This position will work closely with the Senior Data Engineer to develop code base best practices and build clear documentation of our core data pipelines and products. They will also collaborate with the Research, Partnerships, Communications, and Campaigns teams to deliver data products that advance organizational priorities. A successful candidate will be someone who likes working collaboratively and iteratively, is willing to take risks and is able to build out pipelines without detailed guidance. This position is remote and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The base annual salary for this position is $75,000 - $100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
Placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s years of relevant professional experience.
