    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Repair the World is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as its Senior Director of Field Activation Strategy (“Senior Director”) in a unique moment of growth and opportunity. In May 2020, Repair created the Jewish Service Alliance (“JSA”), a field activating coalition of Jewish organizations dedicated to enhancing and expanding service opportunities for the Jewish community. The JSA mobilizes tens of thousands of participants annually in impactful Jewish service, growing the Jewish service movement to empower flourishing Jewish communities that serve in pursuit of a just world. This coalition now includes 50+ organizations committed to building the Jewish Service Movement.

The Senior Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing and expanding the JSA – the heartbeat of the Jewish Service Movement Repair is building – by overseeing JSA-wide strategy, including strategic communications with partners, creating new, customized partnerships, managing the Field Activation Team, and planning other field building initiatives.

This position will report to the Chief Program Officer and will ideally be in or near the communities where Repair directly operates programs (Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Boulder, CO; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA is preferred). As a key member of the Program Leadership Team, the Senior Director will lead the Field Activation Team, and partner with other senior leaders of the Repair team to expand the Jewish Service Movement powered by the JSA. Additionally, the role holds an executive leadership presence externally, and across the organization internally.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Strategic Partner and Program Expansion

    • Drive the strategy, design, development, and oversight of the JSA and its 50+ partners as the central coalition for Jewish communal organizations to engage in and enhance their Jewish service and learning.
    • Revise and iterate program structure and content to expand the JSA and its global footprint.
    • Expand the reach of the Jewish service movement through existing initiatives, like the Service Ambassadors Program, National Days of Jewish Service Activations, and presence at Jewish conferences.
    • Oversee the program implementation and impact of Repair's partnerships.

    Partner Relationship Development

    • Steward relationships with current JSA organizations and prospective national partner organizations/JSA members to build new national partnerships, with an eye towards elevating service within Jewish organizations.
    • Serve as a critical partner and intermediary between JSA members, organizational leaders, and community stakeholders to enhance communication and development of the work.
    • Work with core grant partners to ensure program implementation, oversight, impact measurement, and shared commitments to our MOUs.

    Project Management and Administration

    • Supervise, support and lead a cohesive national partnerships team that moves the department’s strategic vision into programmatic implementation.
    • Collect and analyze data and stories from partner organizations as well as oversee measurement and evaluation of partnerships.
    • Build and implement a strategy for convening and communicating with the JSA.

    Organizational Leadership

    • Collaborate with senior leadership and participate in cross-organizational teams to support wider organizational goals.
    • Represent Repair the World at convenings and national conferences, including teaching and training at communal gatherings.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders involved in developing, executing, launching, tracking, and reporting on National Partnership Programs.

    ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The Senior Director will be a dynamic, mission-aligned leader with a strong instinct for building relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, and shaping the national partnership network. This role is ideal for a bold thinker who can turn big ideas into action and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

    The ideal candidates will bring:

    • 10+ years of senior leadership experience, including team management and guiding organizations through change.
    • Proven success in partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
    • Strength in strategic thinking and operational execution across multiple projects.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident connecting with executives, nonprofit leaders, and young adults.
    • Experience in direct service, volunteer management, Jewish or national service, or related fields.
    • Experience using data to measure programmatic impact, and an understanding of data management.
    • Comfort managing budgets of significant size and scope.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Monday.com, and Salesforce.
    • A deep passion for Repair the World’s mission and value.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This role requires travel opportunities, approximately 5-10%.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Compensation at Repair the World is determined based on the salary band for the role and adjusted based on cost of living where the final candidate resides. Compensation for this role is $145,000 - $165,000.

    ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

    Overview

Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world, igniting a lifelong commitment to service. Repair believes service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. In 2009, Repair the World began elevating meaningful service as a defining element of Jewish life by engaging Jewish young adults in service and learning to meet pressing local needs. Today, Repair leads the Jewish service movement, connecting Jews and their neighbors to volunteer opportunities that always include meaningful Jewish learning. Repair hosts volunteer opportunities in cities across the country, and partners with major Jewish organizations—like Hillels, JCCs, and Federations—to bring Jewish service to people all over the world.

    Impact

By 2030, Repair the World will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service and learning to repair the world. Amid rising antisemitism after October 7th, Repair the World provided an essential entry point for Jews across the country, deepening Jewish identity and engagement, contributing impactful service hours, and forming new community partnerships. Repair the World saw unprecedented growth, significantly increasing the number of participants who contributed meaningful acts of service and learning.

We deeply value the diversity of insight, perspective, and experience brought by people from backgrounds typically underrepresented in Jewish institutions. This includes Black, Latinx, and Asian people, Black Jews, Jews of Color, Sephardi and Mizrachi Jews, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities. We also welcome applications from people of diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds. The organization provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, alienage or citizenship status, creed, genetic predisposition or carrier status, national origin, disability condition, marital status, status as a disabled or Vietnam era veteran, or any other protected characteristic as established by law. In addition, the organization affirmatively seeks to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity as it applies to all policies and procedures relating to recruitment and hiring, compensation, benefits, termination, and all other terms and conditions of employment.
