    Descrição

Welcoming Alliance for Refugee Ministry INC (WARM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization (est. 2016) whose mission is to build a bridge between the church and our city’s refugees by equipping and mobilizing followers of Jesus to welcome the foreigners living among us, directly assisting refugees with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and partnering with existing agencies serving refugees. We envision the church welcoming and caring for every refugee coming to Worcester and the greater Springfield area.

    Position Summary

The Program Manager leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of WARM’s programs that serve refugee families. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role blends program development, volunteer leadership, trauma-informed group facilitation, community partnership, and communication to strengthen refugee wellbeing and volunteer engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program leadership & strategy

    • Co-develop strategic program plans with the Executive Director and Program Coordinator that align with WARM’s vision and track program outcomes.
    • Design, implement, and continuously improve programs and events that address refugees’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

    Team supervision & staff development

    • Supervise program coordinators, providing mentorship, performance feedback, workload management, and professional development.
    • Oversee volunteer coordinators and other program staff as assigned to ensure effective program delivery and coordination.

    Direct services & group facilitation

    • Facilitate layperson-led gender-specific trauma healing and wellbeing groups (primarily women) using trauma-informed approaches.
    • Work with interpreters and multilingual teams to ensure culturally appropriate programming.

    Volunteer management & community engagement

    • Recruit, train, supervise, and support volunteer teams to provide wraparound care and befriending for refugee families.
    • Plan and coordinate one-time and recurring community-building events; delegate tasks and ensure successful execution.
    • Support church alliance onboarding, mobilization, and training efforts.

    Fundraising & administration

    • Support program fundraising by contributing to grant proposals, managing project budgets, and preparing grant reports.
    • Maintain program documentation, monitor impact metrics, and prepare regular reports for leadership.

    Communications & collaboration

    • Draft strategic communications, create flyers and social media content, respond to stakeholder emails, and represent WARM at meetings.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings and collaborate across the team to meet organizational needs.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, public health, human services, community development, international development, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in social services, refugee resettlement, mental-health programming, or community programs.
    • 2+ years supervising staff, volunteers, interns, or community facilitators.
    • Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
    • Training or demonstrated experience in trauma‑informed practice, cross-cultural engagement, and group facilitation (experience with refugee or immigrant communities strongly preferred).
    • Experience working with interpreters and multicultural teams and ability to build trust across cultural, linguistic, religious, and socioeconomic differences.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Google Workspace, social media, and productivity tools.
    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet program and community needs.
