    About Girls’ LEAP

Girls’ LEAP empowers girls and gender-expansive youth to discover their strength and build confidence through empowerment-based self-defense, social-emotional learning, leadership development, and community-based programming.

For more than two decades, Girls’ LEAP has partnered with young people, families, schools, and community organizations throughout Greater Boston to help youth develop the physical and emotional skills to advocate for themselves, set boundaries, build healthy relationships, and navigate their communities with confidence.

    Position Summary

Girls’ LEAP is seeking an organized, proactive, and relationship-oriented Development & Individual Giving Coordinator to strengthen the day-to-day infrastructure of our fundraising program.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Coordinator will support individual giving, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, prospect research, and in-person and online fundraising events.

The Executive Director will serve as the primary relationship manager and solicitor for major gifts, while the Coordinator will ensure that donor cultivation and fundraising efforts are organized, tracked, communicated, and followed through from beginning to end.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with nonprofit development experience who wants to deepen their skills in individual giving, donor engagement, and fundraising strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Individual Giving & Donor Stewardship

    • Support the implementation of Girls’ LEAP’s annual individual giving strategy and revenue goals.
    • Maintain regular communication and follow-up with current donors, lapsed donors, prospects, and supporters.
    • Coordinate donor acknowledgment, thank-you letters, personalized stewardship, and recognition.
    • Help identify opportunities to renew and increase individual gifts.
    • Support annual appeals, year-end giving, Giving Tuesday, and other individual fundraising campaigns.
    • Prepare donor materials, impact information, and correspondence for the Executive Director.
    • Assist with donor segmentation and targeted outreach.

    Major Gifts Support

    • Support the Executive Director in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and prospects.
    • Conduct prospect research and help identify individuals with the interest and capacity to support Girls’ LEAP.
    • Prepare donor profiles, meeting briefs, talking points, and background materials before donor meetings.
    • Schedule donor meetings and coordinate meeting logistics.
    • Track next steps following donor meetings and ensure timely follow-up.
    • Maintain a major-gifts pipeline that clearly identifies prospects, cultivation activities, asks, expected gifts, and stewardship needs.
    • Draft personalized donor correspondence and proposals in partnership with the Executive Director.

    Fundraising Events – In-Person & Online

    • Coordinate and support Girls’ LEAP fundraising and donor engagement events, including in-person events, virtual events, online campaigns, donor receptions, and community-based fundraising activities.
    • Support planning and execution of Girls’ LEAP's signature fundraising events.
    • Coordinate invitations, registration, RSVPs, donor communications, sponsorship materials, event logistics, and follow-up.
    • Support online silent auctions and other digital fundraising activities.
    • Help solicit and track event sponsorships, auction items, and in-kind donations.
    • Work with staff, board members, volunteers, vendors, and community partners to ensure successful events.
    • Track event revenue, expenses, donor participation, and follow-up opportunities.
    • Ensure that event attendees and new prospects are incorporated into Girls’ LEAP’s donor pipeline following each event.

    Donor Database & Fundraising Administration

    • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in Girls’ LEAP’s donor management system.
    • Record gifts, pledges, donor communications, meetings, and other interactions.
    • Maintain fundraising calendars, donor lists, solicitation schedules, and campaign timelines.
    • Track outstanding pledges, sponsorship commitments, and donor follow-up.
    • Ensure donor records and acknowledgment processes are timely and accurate.
    • Assist with donor data cleanup, segmentation, and reporting.

    Fundraising Tracking & Reporting

    • Maintain a fundraising dashboard that provides the Executive Director with a clear picture of fundraising progress.
    • Track individual giving against annual fundraising goals.
    • Monitor donor retention, new donors, renewed donors, upgraded gifts, outstanding asks, and prospective gifts.
    • Provide regular updates on donors requiring outreach, follow-up, stewardship, or solicitation.
    • Help identify fundraising trends and opportunities based on donor data.
    • Support preparation of fundraising updates for the Board of Directors.

    Board & Leadership Support

    • Support the Executive Director and Board members with donor outreach and fundraising activities.
    • Prepare donor and prospect lists for board members.
    • Provide templates, talking points, invitations, and follow-up materials that make it easier for board members to participate in fundraising.
    • Track board introductions, outreach, and prospective donor connections.
    • Help coordinate donor cultivation opportunities involving board members and organizational leadership.

    Qualifications

    • 2–4 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, event coordination, communications, or a related field.
    • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Comfortable communicating professionally with donors, board members, community partners, and organizational leadership.
    • Experience using a donor database, CRM, or fundraising platform preferred.
    • Experience supporting fundraising events, donor campaigns, or individual giving initiatives.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Executive Director and staff.
    • Commitment to Girls’ LEAP’s mission and to empowering girls and young people.

    Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys making things happen behind the scenes. They are highly organized, persistent about follow-up, comfortable working with donor information, and excited about building relationships.

They understand that successful fundraising is not only about making the ask—it is also about the research, preparation, communication, organization, stewardship, and consistent follow-through that make strong donor relationships possible.

This person should be interested in growing professionally. Over time, there may be opportunities to assume responsibility for a portfolio of individual donors and develop deeper experience in donor cultivation and solicitation.

    Fundraising Partnership

Girls’ LEAP is working toward an ambitious individual giving and fundraising goal. The Executive Director will retain primary responsibility for major donor relationships and major gift solicitations, while the Development & Individual Giving Coordinator will provide the infrastructure, organization, prospect development, stewardship, event coordination, and follow-through necessary to achieve those goals.

Success in this position will be measured not only by dollars raised, but also by the strength and growth of the donor pipeline, donor retention and engagement, quality of stewardship, successful execution of fundraising campaigns and events, and consistent follow-through on fundraising opportunities.

    Why Join Girls’ LEAP?

This role offers an opportunity to play a meaningful part in the growth of a community-based organization while gaining hands-on experience across individual giving, major gifts, donor stewardship, fundraising events, and nonprofit development strategy.

The Coordinator will work closely with executive leadership and have an opportunity to grow their fundraising skills while helping Girls’ LEAP expand the community of supporters investing in girls and young people across Greater Boston.
