Overview
Thee Quaker Project is seeking a talented video producer to run its flagship Youtube & TikTok channel, Quaker Videos. The candidate should have a passion for viral video trends and a skill for creating video content with spiritual depth.
About Us
Thee Quaker Project is a Quaker online media startup led by award-winning Quaker media creator Jon Watts.
Quakerism is a small denomination spanning the globe, with a wide theological spectrum and a rich history of activism led by our values of peace, equality, integrity and simplicity.
Responsibilities
This staff position is in charge of video production from conception to publication as well as audience growth. Each of the tasks below is either directly completed by the video producer or else coordinated (overseen) to completion.

- Guide staff content brainstorms
- Decide on video topics and genres
- Video Production
- Planning
- Filming
- Interviewing
- Editing
- Post Production
- Video Distribution and Promotion
- Design clickable video thumbnails
- Write compelling social media copy
- Upload to Youtube, TikTok, Facebook & Instagram
- Maintain Quakervideos.com wordpress site
- Audience Building & Strategy
- Analyze data and viewership to maximize audience growth and reach
- Develop effective, high-visibility social media strategy
- Design and implement audience conversion strategies
- Engage with viewers and moderate comments on videos across platforms
- Program Income
- Implement strategy for generating support from viewers
- Produce ads and sponsored videos
- Cross-promotion
- Work with our podcast producer and daily quaker editor to create regular ongoing video content which promotes our other two projects.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience producing, editing, and distributing online video and/or multimedia digital content
- Exceptional interviewing and storytelling skills
- Working knowledge of operating film equipment
- Familiarity with best practices on TikTok and Youtube
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Experience with content management/online publishing systems
- Strong organizational skills and solid work ethic
- Ability to take feedback well and provide self-direction
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premier or comparable video editing software
- Proficiency in Wordpress
- Proficiency in SEO and other tools for online marketing and audience building
Desired Characteristics
- Passion for video storytelling and conducting spiritually-grounded interviews
- Passion for exploring spiritual concepts, theologies, and journeys
- Heavy consumer of Youtube & TikTok content
- Ability to experiment with different kinds of content (playful, serious, etc) and form an audience-growth strategy using diverse genres of content
- Some familiarity with the Quaker religion; an insatiable curiosity to learn more
- Technological savvy around latest web and mobile apps
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments while under deadline pressure
- Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment
Salary: $53k-$63k per year based on experience.
Benefits:
- 20 days paid vacation time
- 10 paid sick days
- 13 paid holidays
- HRA which reimburses up to $6,350 per year in health expenses
- a 3% of salary contribution to a retirement account
- funds to accommodate remote-work needs.
Time: 40 hours per week role exempt from overtime
Location: Thee Quaker is a remote organization with one in-person staff retreat per
year. This position requires travel as needed to produce high quality videos.
