    Overview:

    Masa partners with Mexican and Latin American children, youth, and families in the South Bronx to develop strong learners and leaders who fully contribute to the broader community. We envision a community that is civically engaged, empowered, and educated.

Masa fosters a culturally responsive learning community in which families engage with direct service and advocacy programs to dismantle barriers to success.

    About the Immigration and Family Support Supervisor:

    The Immigration and Family Support Supervisor reports to the Programs Manager, and will play a key role in providing oversight and coordinating services under the Pro Se Plus Project and Welcome NY initiatives, which provides immigration and family support. This role will supervise the Immigrant Support Services team which includes a full-time Family Support Coordinator, a part-time Senior Program Specialist, a full-time Program Associate and a part-time Data Specialist. The Immigration Support Services team provides immigrant New Yorkers with community education, including but not limited to, Know Your Rights workshops on various topics, Emergency Planning, screenings, advice and counsel, pro se application assistance under the supervision of immigration attorneys, and individual case management and referral services for legal and social services to immigrant families residing in New York City.

    The Immigration and Family Support Supervisor will liaise with our legal service consultant, ensure Masa staff are properly trained and up-to-date on ever evolving immigration policy changes, and that our Know Your Rights material is also up to date with the most accurate information. This position will also establish our accompaniment and detention support program.

    This position is ideal for someone who has a strong interest in immigrant justice, is passionate about supporting and working in partnership with immigrant families, and is an excellent planner, implementer, innovator, communicator, and multi-tasker. A background in social work, commitment to social and family justice, experience with detailed record keeping, and enthusiasm in managing a team is essential. Prior experience in providing immigration support services is highly desirable.

    This position is full-time through 8/14/26, with possibility of extension contingent upon funding, and is in-person at Masa’s offices in the South Bronx.

    Responsibilities:

    Pro Se Plus Project/ Welcome New York Initiative Implementation

    • Oversee intake assessment process, and immigration legal screenings, to assess support options available; ensure staff are properly trained on intake assessments and appropriate referrals to immigration and social services
    • Ensure staff document the services provided and conduct adequate follow-up
    • Build and maintain partnerships with key organizations that offer culturally fluent services in demand within the Masa community
    • Attend Pro Se Plus Project meetings; coordinate screening/ application assistance clinics with our Pro Se Plus Project partners
    • Oversee emergency support activities, including the distribution of food, clothing, and other supplies
    • Attend required trainings and stay abreast of changes in current immigration policies and laws that directly impact the work we are doing
    • Oversee and create program outreach strategies, including the creation of marketing and communication material, attend community events, tabling, and presenting on Masa’s programs and resources
    • Manage immigration interest form, call log, waitists, and prioritizing cases
    • Work with Programs Manager, Coordinator, and immigration attorneys to prioritize cases for Pro Se Application Assistance clinics
    • Conduct community education and Know Your Rights presentations and ensure that the most up-to-date information is reflected in our workshop and volunteer training material
    • Ensure data integrity from phone calls/ workshops/ screeners/ consultations into a variety of platforms including Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Salesforce
    • Prepare Pro Se Plus Program and Welcome New York reports in collaboration with the Data Specialist

    Staff Supervision

    • Provide adequate support and supervision to 1 full-time Family Support Coordinator, 1 part-time Senior Program Specialist, 1 full-time Program Associate and 1 part-time Data Specialist
    • Conduct regular check-ins and team meetings with staff
    • Ensure staff is clear on initiative goals and create a process for meeting project deliverables

    Record Keeping

    • Maintain a high-quality and accurate list of referrals for Masa’s community; conduct outreach to partner organizations as-needed to confirm services and availability
    • Keep all records and information organized and up-to-date in SalesForce, including resolving error reports to ensure integrity of data
    • Ensure all funder requirements are met in a timely manner

    General

    • Support special projects and Masa events, as needed
    • Support and assist in cross-training volunteers supporting in Pro Se Application Assistance clinics

    Requirements:

    • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
    • B.A in social work, human services, or related field required
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience
    • 3+ years of experience working in case management
    • 3+ years of experience working with immigrant communities preferred
    • Highly organized and self-managing; able to work independently
    • Highly motivated, creative with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication and engagement skills to establish trust and rapport with community members
    • Excellent computer skills; comfortable working with Excel
    • Excellent judgment, and attention to discretion and confidentiality
    • Familiarity with social service agencies in the Bronx a major plus

    Physical demands:

    • This position is in-person at Masa’s office, and may require local travel to other settings at times (e.g. schools, Masa community events, etc.)
    • Light to moderate carrying of program materials is required
    • Work schedule includes occasional evenings and weekends

    Compensation:

    $65,000-$70,000 annually
