This position is supervised by Local 7’s Business Representative. Under the direction of the Business Representative, this position is responsible for the timely and accurate dispatch of referents from Local 7’s Hiring Hall to employer job sites. With information from the Business Representative, the Dispatcher(s) use the Local’s computer-based Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system and app-based dispatch system to fulfill labor orders from employers. The Dispatcher electronically delivers labor orders to employers and the job or house steward in a timely fashion likewise in accordance with direction from the Business Representative, in accordance with Local 7’s Hiring Hall Referral Rules, and dispatch requirements as specified in various collective bargaining agreements.

- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in the work place and in communications with others.
Qualifications:
Expertise in Excel spreadsheets, word processing and e-mail.
Experience with phone-based applications and accurate data entry.
Work experience in entertainment industry preferred.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Other certificates of training or education are considered.
Wages: Dispatcher hourly compensation of $34.50. Local 7 does not guarantee overtime through the time of employment. Any such overtime is calculated beyond the forty (40) hours of straight time per week and is pre-approved by the Business Representative.
Job Conditions: This is an “at-will, non-exempt” employment position. Ninety (90) day probationary period required. Typical office environment: office equipment provided. The guaranteed work hours for the Dispatcher are based upon the level of current business of Local 7. The Dispatcher meets weekly with the Business Representative to determine the Dispatcher’s following week’s work schedule. The Dispatcher provides weekly hourly tracking to the Business Representative for review and approval.
On-call duty is required, including on-call coverage for two (2) weekends per month.

Benefícios
Local 7 makes contributions to the Local 7 Health and Welfare Fund upon qualification, and the IA Annuity Fund on behalf of the Dispatcher. To maintain a position in the Local 7 referral system, Local 7 withholds four percent (4%) of the Dispatcher’s gross wages. Paid Time Off (PTO) as per the Local 7 PTO Policy. Approved PTO is available for use after six (6) months of continuous employment.
