    Position Overview:

    We are seeking an innovative and analytical Data Scientist to join BlueHub Capital. This role will focus on extracting meaningful insights from large, complex financial datasets to drive business strategy, improve risk management, optimize products, and enhance customer experience. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and statistical skills with business acumen and a passion for solving real-world problems with data. This position will report to our Chief Information Officer and will play a crucial role in building and scaling the organization’s data infrastructure. We are seeking a candidate who is local to the Boston, MA area and comfortable working a hybrid schedule of three days of work in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and two days of remote work (Monday & Friday).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The essential duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Design, develop, and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges.
    • Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured financial datasets from multiple sources.
    • Perform statistical analyses, identifying trends, and developing predictive models to inform lending decisions and impact assessment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Finance, Risk, Marketing, and Technology—to define business problems and translate them into analytical solutions.
    • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including management, investors, and community partners.
    • Contribute to the development of the company’s data science tools, infrastructure, and best practices.
    • Ensure adherence to data privacy, security, and compliance standards including CCPA
    • Build, test, and deploy production-ready models; monitor and maintain model performance over time.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in financial services, banking, fintech, or insurance.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
    • Experience in leading or supporting the build out a data warehouse/LLM
    • Strong skills in SQL and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
    • Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling and machine learning.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau and Power BI).
    • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
    • Solid understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and model evaluation techniques.
