Overview of Role
We are seeking a growth oriented Director of Marketing to lead and build Fishtank’s internal marketing function. This role requires both strategic leadership and strong execution, particularly in demand generation, product marketing, and lifecycle communications, supporting the growth of Fishtank’s K–12 curriculum and digital platform. Fishtank has an established marketing strategy and foundation in place, and this role will focus on executing, refining, and scaling that work to drive stronger results. This role will be highly hands on, owning both strategy and execution while building toward a more scalable team over time.
You will own and scale our demand generation engine while also leading how we communicate product updates, curriculum improvements, and value to both prospective and current partners. This includes close collaboration with Curriculum, Product, School Partnerships, including Sales & Customer Success, and Implementation teams to ensure strong alignment across the full customer journey from awareness through renewal and expansion.
This role is focused on reaching and influencing district and network level decision makers, including curriculum leaders, instructional leaders, and system level administrators. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of how K-12 purchasing decisions are made and how to build trust with education leaders over time.
This role will also lead the transition from our current embedded marketing agency model to a fully in-house team, including building team structure, hiring, and establishing systems and processes for long-term success.
This role reports directly to the Managing Director of Growth and will play a critical role in strengthening Fishtank’s market position and supporting the organization’s next phase of growth.
Success in this role will be measured by growth in a qualified pipeline, increased brand awareness, and strong alignment between marketing, sales, curriculum, and product.
