GeneralGiist is a new global social discussion and news website built for people who want somewhere to talk, debate, share opinions, follow interesting stories, discover people with similar interests, and simply have fun online.
Our vision is to build a large, active internet community around real conversations and unfiltered vibes.

GeneralGiist is deliberately broad. It is designed for a global audience, not one country or one niche.

People should be able to come to GeneralGiist to discuss serious news one minute, argue about an opinion the next, talk about a movie, share a funny experience, discuss football, discover a new topic, or simply cruise around and see what people are talking about.
Why This Role Exists
GeneralGiist is still in its early stage.
That means we have an important problem to solve:
We need to make the website feel alive.
A new visitor should not arrive at an empty forum and wonder:
“Is anyone here?”
They should see interesting topics, fresh discussions, news, opinions, questions, replies and activity and think:
“I want to join this conversation.”
That is the mission of the Founding Community Growth Builder.
You will help build both sides of the equation:
Bring people to GeneralGiist → Give them something worth joining → Get them talking → Give them a reason to come back.
What You Will Actually Do
This is a hands-on community-building role.
You will not simply be asked to “promote the website.”
You will help create the activity that makes the website worth promoting.
- Bring New Users & Members
Find people who are likely to enjoy GeneralGiist and bring them into the community.
This can include:
- Social-media communities
- Online forums
- Reddit-style communities
- Facebook groups
- X/Twitter conversations
- Discord communities
- Interest-based communities
- Relevant websites
- Partnerships
- Personal networks
- Organic word-of-mouth
- Other channels you discover
The objective is not meaningless traffic.
The objective is to bring real people who may actually participate.
- Make GeneralGiist Look Alive
One of your most important responsibilities will be helping create an active homepage and active discussion boards.
That means creating and seeding:
- Discussion threads
- News discussions
- Questions
- Opinion topics
- Polls
- Entertainment discussions
- Trending-topic conversations
- Debate topics
- Community questions
- Fun topics
- Interesting stories
- Follow-up discussions
If an important story is trending, we should be asking:
“What would people on GeneralGiist say about this?”
If people are debating something elsewhere:
“Can we turn that subject into an interesting GeneralGiist discussion?”
If a board is quiet:
“What conversation could we start that would make people want to participate?”
The goal is to make GeneralGiist feel like a place where something is always happening.
- Start Conversations People Actually Want to Join
We don't want hundreds of boring posts created simply to increase a counter.
We want conversation starters.
For example:
Instead of:
“New football news.”
Create:
“Do you think this transfer actually makes the team stronger?”
Instead of:
“New movie released.”
Create:
“Has anyone watched this yet? Is it actually worth the hype?”
Instead of:
“Trending topic.”
Create:
“Everyone seems to have an opinion on this — but who do you actually think is right?”
The job is to turn information into conversation.
- Seed Discussions
Early communities have a chicken-and-egg problem.
People don't want to post where nobody is posting.
And nobody wants to post until people are there.
The founding growth team helps break that cycle.
You may therefore be expected to participate in GeneralGiist discussions yourself by:
- Starting threads
- Replying to threads
- Asking follow-up questions
- Keeping conversations moving
- Responding to other members
- Encouraging different opinions
- Connecting related discussions
- Reviving good older topics
- Welcoming new members
The objective is to create real community momentum.
- Turn Visitors Into Participants
Getting someone to visit GeneralGiist is only step one.
We want:
Visitor → Registration → First interaction → First post/reply → Returning member → Active community member
You will help identify ways to move people through that journey.
For example:
- Invite someone to join a discussion.
- Point new members toward interesting boards.
- Encourage first-time posters.
- Start conversations around their interests.
- Make newcomers feel noticed.
- Give members reasons to return.
- Follow Trends & News
GeneralGiist is also a discussion and news platform.
You should keep an eye on what people are talking about online.
Look for:
- Breaking stories
- Viral conversations
- Entertainment news
- Sports stories
- Internet drama
- Technology developments
- Celebrity stories
- Political/current events
- Interesting debates
- Cultural conversations
- Memes and fun topics
Then ask:
“How can GeneralGiist turn this into a good conversation?”
We are not trying to copy every story on the internet.
We are looking for subjects that can generate discussion and participation.
- Help Fill Quiet Boards
GeneralGiist has multiple discussion categories.
Some will naturally grow faster than others.
Part of your job may be identifying quiet areas and creating useful conversations there.
The objective is to gradually make more parts of GeneralGiist feel active instead of having all activity concentrated in only a few boards.
- Experiment With Growth
You will be encouraged to test ideas.
Examples include:
- Referral campaigns
- Discussion campaigns
- Community challenges
- “Question of the Day”
- Debate series
- Trending-topic threads
- Shareable discussion posts
- Member invitations
- Topic-specific outreach
- Partnerships

- Measure What Actually Matters
We care about results.
Important signals include:

A person who brings 20 visitors and creates 10 active members may be contributing more than someone who generates 500 empty clicks.

Compensation
GeneralGiist is currently an early-stage company and does not currently have the resources to provide a guaranteed salary for this founding opportunity.
We want to be completely transparent about this before anyone applies.
However, we are looking for people who want to build alongside the project, and meaningful long-term contributions can create opportunities for future compensation.
Depending on contribution, responsibility, results and the development of GeneralGiist, opportunities may include:
Future Paid Work
As GeneralGiist grows and develops sustainable revenue, strong contributors may be considered for paid roles, contracts or other compensated positions.
Revenue Share
Contributors who make substantial and sustained contributions may be considered for agreed revenue-sharing arrangements.
Any revenue-share arrangement would be separately discussed and documented.
Equity / Sweat Equity
Exceptional early builders who make substantial long-term contributions to GeneralGiist may be considered for equity or sweat-equity arrangements.
Any equity arrangement would require a separate written agreement defining the terms, responsibilities, vesting and applicable conditions.
Leadership Opportunities
People who consistently demonstrate strong execution, reliability, leadership and measurable results may have opportunities to take greater responsibility as GeneralGiist grows.
Important: Joining the founding team does not automatically guarantee salary, revenue share or equity. These opportunities depend on individual contribution, results, commitment, the company's development and mutually agreed terms.
