    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Vice President of Programs, the Director of Housing Initiatives serves as a key leader and team member in developing a strategic housing initiative for Community Foundation Boulder County.

    Utilizing a collective impact approach, the Director of Housing Initiatives leads community education, cross-sector relationship building, and strategic coordination to advance affordable housing solutions in Boulder County. This role includes fundraising, systems change work, relationship building, facilitation and data-driven strategy to mobilize philanthropic resources and align partners around shared goals.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    The Director will develop and execute a strategic vision across the following priorities:

    Fundraising and Resource Development – 40%

    • Lead the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of relationships with potential philanthropic funders (local, state, and national) interested in investing in Boulder County.
    • Translate complex housing systems and policy dynamics into compelling, accessible cases for support that educate and inspire donors and community members.
    • Lead the analysis and coordination of available philanthropic funding to support efforts to achieve Boulder County’s affordable housing goal. Coordinate philanthropic grant applications to secure resources for Boulder County communities.
    • Identify, package and market unique philanthropic tools to support housing availability and affordability.

    Strategic Partnerships and Community Impact – 40%

    • Work cooperatively with housing providers and supporters (municipal governments, nonprofit organizations, developers, and other interested entities) to strengthen cross-sector partnerships.
    • Provide project management for regional housing initiatives through facilitation focused on data driven agendas, measurable outcomes, and accountability commitments.
    • Support partners in using data to inform decisions, evaluate progress, and adapt strategies to ensure equitable impact.
    • Collaborate with nonprofit housing service providers to understand the needs and resources to increase effectiveness.

    Community Education, Communications and Administration – 20%

    • Cultivate inclusive, equity-centered collaboration by facilitating strong communication and engagement and building trust across diverse stakeholders.
    • Support housing related data collection, presentation, and distribution from multiple sources. Create clear and accessible data reports to support decision making, strategy, and community understanding.
    • Lead affordable housing educational and planning events for potential donors and community members including developing agendas, working with vendors, and arranging speakers/presentations.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred
    • 5 years’ experience in a nonprofit, philanthropic or government role
    • Experience facilitating collaborative, collective impact, or cross-sector initiatives
    • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and relationship building skills
    • Demonstrated success in fundraising and philanthropic partnership development
    • Working knowledge of housing systems and affordable housing issues
    • Demonstrated ability to use data and evaluation to guide strategy
    • Proficiency with working with databases, survey instruments and tools
    • A professional and resourceful style; the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
    • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player
    • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail and project management skills
    • High energy and passion for seeking ways to create a more equitable Boulder County

    Compensation

    This is a full-time, exempt position (100% FTE) or 40 hours a week. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 commensurate with experience. CFBC offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, retirement contribution and match, parking pass, and Limited Health Reimbursement Account (employer funding of $2,000 per year).

    This is a hybrid position - in the office at least 3 days a week or more as needed. This position has been funded for a two-year period.
