Mary’s Place is on a mission to ensure that no child sleeps outside. As an organizational thought leader, change agent, and member of the Mary’s Place Leadership Team, the Outreach & Diversion Director oversees Mary’s Place’s mobile outreach work to families who are living unsheltered (e.g., outside, in vehicles, tents, etc.) throughout King County. The director also leads a collaborative of nonprofit organizations providing family services at the Allen Family Center (AFC) in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood. Additionally, the director oversees our partnerships with local hospitals to ensure families and pregnant individuals do not discharge into homelessness.
Throughout these ventures, the Outreach & Diversion Director operates a Housing First model and applies innovative, responsive, and trauma-informed approaches to help families secure permanent housing. Furthermore, the director works to strengthen and broaden the spectrum of outreach and diversion services Mary’s Place offers. The director has a keen attention to detail and manages multiple grants, contracts, and budgets. They oversee Mary’s Place Outreach Request Portal, steward numerous partnerships, and work to deepen our connections to community stakeholders and providers.
The Outreach and Diversion Director actively engages in Mary’s Place racial equity work—striving for equitable outcomes and taking responsibility for creating, maintaining, and affirming communities for people of color, immigrants, and refugees, trans and gender-non-conforming people, and other populations who routinely encounter systemic oppressions. This position reports to the Chief Program & Innovation Officer. The director leads the Outreach & Diversion Team, including supervising two Outreach Managers who oversee a combined total of eleven outreach coordinators and specialists, an Outreach Administrative Coordinator, and a variable number of interns.
This is a full-time, exempt position with the flexibility to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays to meet the demands of the job. The annual salary range for this position is $100K - $105K.
