    Position Overview

    The Regional Program Manager, Mid-Atlantic at PALS Programs oversees the program development and operational aspects of our camps in Mid-Atlantic, ensuring that each program runs smoothly from enrollment to execution. This individual will be the direct manager of up to two regional coordinators, with additional roles possible dependent on organizational growth. This role is critical to the success of our mission, providing leadership across various functions, coordinating with other PALS employees, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all participants and staff.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    Operational Leadership:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the regional team, ensuring seamless coordination with central staff and execution of all activities.
    • Support and steward regional partnerships and university relationships to support our growing volunteer pipeline and participant needs.
    • Manage the tracking and coordination of all key objectives and metrics, ensuring the accuracy of program enrollment, cancellation, waitlist placements and more.
    • Ensure all programming schedules and budgets meet the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with PALS policies.
    • Manage operational budget for each program as well as any regional initiatives (recruitment, leadership gatherings, etc.) ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.

    Program Growth & Development:

    • Build and maintain partnerships in the region to foster program growth and increase reach, including new university, programming, and volunteer partners.
    • Identify & partner with key community stakeholders to engage new and unique participants in camp, particularly those identified by annual dashboard goals.
    • Strategize and execute off-season events, such as alumni gatherings, recruitment fairs, and activity outings.
    • Support the Advancement team by hosting fundraising events and meeting with local donors.

    Team Supervision & Collaboration:

    • Supervise and mentor a regional team of up to two Program Coordinators, with additional roles possible dependent on organizational growth.
    • Conduct quarterly performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the entire staff team, working alongside other regions as well as central and development teams.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Analyze annual performance and implement improvements to enhance PALS impact and overall mission alignment
    • Support all on-site efforts, ensuring adequate staffing and support to enable successful and mission-aligned programs.
    • Support the Program Director in strategic planning, problem-solving, DEIB learning, and other duties as assigned.

    Skills & Experience we are looking for:

    • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a camp, educational, or non-profit setting.
    • Strong ability and experience managing a diverse and distributed team.
    • Experience in managing complex operations, including logistics, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Demonstrated success in overseeing program development, growth, and execution.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both in-person and remotely.
    • Self-starter attitude with the ability to connect with new community members and invite them into the PALS mission.
    • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations and information with discretion.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
    • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing effective solutions.

    Terms & Compensation

    This is an exempt, full-time position according to the FLSA, with an expectation of approximately 40 hours/week and a salary range of $60,000-$75,000. Salary is dependent on experience, size & scope of the region under their purview, and applicant’s ability to travel throughout the region. While PALS office hours are generally 9 am - 5 pm ET, work hours may vary depending on time and season. Occasionally, our young volunteer leaders meet with staff in the evening, or we host weekend events, and employees are encouraged to flex their time to accommodate these needs.

    The employee will work remotely and is expected to have a dedicated workspace for phone calls, video conferences, and independent work. This position will require travel to at least three weeks of programming on location during the summer months and should be prepared for on-site emergency and on-call support. Our regional roles will operate in a hybrid fashion where we will expect employees to be out visiting and engaging on-site with our community partners.     PALS is a fully remote team and this regional position must live and work in the Mid-Atlantic region (including Maryland, Delaware, southern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, northern Virginia, and Washington, DC).
