    Job Summary:

    The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the strategic vision of STANCE as a nonprofit and all aspects of administrative oversight and fundraising. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and works collaboratively with the Artistic and Assistant Directors to educate, train, and build a community of singers.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic leadership and administrative priorities to the organization
    • Communicate and orient new and existing singers to the policies, norms, and logistics of the organization
    • Ensure compliance with the organization’s masking and COVID vaccination policies
    • Manage audition signups, advertising, and scheduling in an equitable manner
    • Organize venues and logistics for our rehearsals, bi-annual concerts and special performances throughout the year including procuring AV, ASL, security, and photography contractors
    • Coordinate volunteers throughout the year
    • Setup online ticketing systems and monitor ticket sales
    • Manage advertising strategies, social media presence, digital communications, and media relations
    • Oversee the hiring of new staff as needed
    • Manage organizational budgets, projections, Quickbooks transactions, bank accounts, contractor and employee payments, and annual taxes
    • Maintain appropriate licenses and insurance
    • Ensure compliance with nonprofit standards, laws, and grant requirements
    • Coordinate a team of grant-writers and manage submissions and deadlines
    • Supervise the production of an annual fundraiser talent show and auction in collaboration with a team of volunteers
    • Solicit donations from community members and sponsorships from businesses
    • Gather singer feedback and concerns and respond in a compassionate manner
    • Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment focused on community building
    • Prioritize accessibility of rehearsal and concert spaces, especially for neurodiverse and disabled community members.
    • Collaborate with internal leaders, external partners, and guest artists
    • Report administrative and financial updates to the Board and advise on strategic direction
    • Interface with audiences and the public to represent STANCE’s organizational priorities
    • Available for occasional in-person Wednesday evening rehearsals, at least 6 annual in-person events in the Seattle area, and monthly virtual Board of Director meetings.

    Required Experience:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience and action towards racial equity
    • Experience with grantwriting, individual donor appeals, and sponsorship acquisition
    • Budget management experience
    • Ability to manage conflict and resolution
    • Intimate knowledge of the unique challenges faced by transgender, nonbinary, disabled, and neurodivergent communities

    Desired Experience:

    • Experience with Arts nonprofits
    • Social media and advertising experience
    • Comfortable with public speaking

    Compensation:

    • Salary of $25,000 - $30,000 for a half-time position annually depending on experience
