Field Coordinator

Position Details
- 20 hours per week until November 6th, 2026
- Paid in salary bi-weekly at an hourly rate of $30
- The Field Coordinator is a contractor position that does not receive benefits
What You’ll Do
- Serve as Co-Chair of the A2P2 Field Working Group
- Organize and facilitate Field Working Group meetings
- Set the Field Working Group’s quarterly goals and outcomes (OKRs) and track the organization’s progress towards those goals
- Serve as an administrator on Field Working Group servers (Discord)
- Attend meetings on Thursday evenings and deliver regular, detailed reports of weekly activities
- Organize and support A2P2 field efforts
- Organize and run A2P2 door-to-door canvasses in a supervisory capacity (mostly evening and weekend canvasses)
- Organize and run regular A2P2 phone-banking events
- Coordinate multiple, sometimes simultaneous, A2P2 canvasses across the city by ward
- Organize non-canvass public outreach and signature collection activities (e.g. Farmer’s Market)
- Monitor key metrics for canvassing outcomes, such as doors knocked and signatures collected, using NGP VAN and NationBuilder
- Track inventory, budgeting, and printing for physical materials such as educational literature and signature sheets
- Develop training materials and facilitate trainings for new A2P2 canvassers
- Table for A2P2 at events in a supervisory capacity
- Help recruit and onboard new field volunteers to meet the needs of collecting enough signatures and promoting the ballot question campaign.
- Other duties
- Support a positive and transparent organizational culture
- Attend in-person A2P2 events (time permitting)
Required Qualifications
- Significant canvassing experience for political candidate(s) and/or campaign(s)
- Comfort with technology platforms for data tracking and reporting (particularly NGP VAN and NationBuilder)
- Willingness to work outside of traditional office hours (evenings, weekends, inconsistent scheduling week-by-week)
- Ability to work outside and walk long distances
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, particularly scheduling multiple concurrent events
- Ability to manage diverse teams of people
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing canvasses for a political candidate and/or campaign in a supervisory capacity
- Experience with developing training materials and training others, particularly for canvassing efforts
- Experience with political advocacy specifically within the city of Ann Arbor
