Job Summary: The Media Outreach Coordinator manages communication with external media and facilitates development of internal messaging, media capacity, and production of new media. As the point person for relationships with external media, the Media Outreach Coordinator is expected to coordinate with the Social Media and Fundraising Coordinators and members of the Fundraising, Outreach, Abuse documentation, and Media (FOAM) Working Group to ensure timely response to external and internal media-related requests and needs, including in emergencies, and to delegate responsibilities effectively, making use of FOAM community resources, expertise, and volunteers.

Job Location: Semi-remote with occasional in-person requirements in Tucson, AZ and optional travel in Pima and Santa Cruz Counties, AZ

Reports to: Fundraising, Outreach, Abuse documentation, and Media (FOAM) Working Group and No More Deaths (NMD) CoreGroup.

Job Structure: A 1-year part-time (35-50 hours per month) position is available, with some variability of monthly hours based on organizational needs. Working hours and days may be flexible and decided in coordination with FOAM, with an expectation of some coverage and availability during core hours of activity which may occasionally fall outside of normal business hours (e.g. crisis events requiring rapid media response, evening meetings, weekend trainings).
