    Descrição

    ABOUT YOU:

You are tired of feeling forced to pick sides in a never-ending battle of political good vs. evil when your heart tells you there is a better way. You are motivated to challenge yourself and others by engaging in an open and free exchange of ideas and opinions. You’re seeking a place where you can collaborate with people who vote, think, and worship differently from you. You embrace the opportunity to challenge your own assumptions—and invite others to do the same—in pursuit of better understanding and improving the work you do together. In a society full of ideological echo chambers, you are eager to be part of an organization that builds healthy collaboration to put the wisdom of our faith traditions to work for a better world.

    ABOUT US:

We believe toxic polarization is a spiritual crisis—and that faith offers a powerful response. Our faith

traditions teach us to love our neighbors, welcome strangers, and pray for our enemies, providing

timeless wisdom for building healthy communities. That’s why we are building and growing a network of

faith leaders who speak and act against toxic polarization in accordance with their faith tradition.

Currently, this network includes over 3,500 faith leaders and is expanding rapidly. Our goal is that these

leaders ultimately shape healthy norms within their groups while bridging divides externally, publicly,

    and independently of us.

One America is a young organization. Founded in 2017, we have experienced significant organizational growth over the last 9 years. Having just completed our first strategic plan, we are seeking to build on that growth by hiring our first Development Director, with a goal of expanding from thousands of faith leaders nationwide to tens of thousands of faith leaders speaking & acting against toxic polarization.

    ONE AMERICA MOVEMENT DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR:

One America is looking for a highly-skilled and organized team player to leverage our current fundraising success and help take our growth to the next level. Our $4.3m budget comes primarily from institutional foundations. We are seeking to grow within the foundation space and to expand our fundraising efforts to include more high-net-worth individuals (HNWI). The Director will lead all aspects of the Development process and, in coordination with HR, hire a Development Manager within the first quarter. In addition to growing and shaping this team, you will work closely with the CEO, who has been our primary fundraiser. Please be aware that our organizational approach to fundraising is highly relational, whether with foundation program officers or HNWI, and the Director will need to be able to successfully cultivate such relationships.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Development Operations:

    • Oversee all aspects of our fundraising, from strategy through execution, ensuring a steady stream of funds for a growing organization.
    • Hire & supervise the Development Manager.
    • Connect the fundraising strategy to the rest of the organization by collaborating across departments and working closely with the C-Suite and Board of Directors.
    • Maintain and refine existing development systems, pipelines, and CRM processes to support accurate tracking and forecasting.
    • Oversee the maintenance of accurate data on donors and potential funders, including the gift receiving process (acknowledgements and tax letters).
    • Partner with the Communications team to create standardized fundraising collateral.
    • Work with the Communications and Programs teams to engage donors in programs and deepen their connection and commitment to the One America Movement.

    Foundation Management:

    • Oversee the pipeline of ongoing potential funders, directing foundation and corporate sponsorship research on potential funding opportunities and renewals.
    • Direct grant cycle, from initial grant proposals to tracking and delivering reporting requirements, preparing for check-in meetings, and following up on donor requests.
    • Work across the organization to gather data for the proposal process, including budgets.

    HNWI Solicitation & Stewardship:

    • Build, steward, and grow a pipeline of HNWI donors by identifying, cultivating, and securing new donors aligned with our mission through interests in democracy, polarization, and / or faith.
    • Oversee a structured stewardship calendar including phone calls, personalized emails, handwritten notes, Zoom conversations, and in‑person meetings.
    • Prepare the CEO for donor conversations, briefings, and strategic asks.
