Summary of Role
In light of its continued growth and influence, the AAVSO is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead day-to-day volunteer coordination and engagement efforts across the organization. This role oversees key aspects of the volunteer lifecycle – including recruitment, onboarding, assignment coordination, training support, and recognition– while also serving as a primary point of contact for member and volunteer inquiries. Working closely with staff and volunteer leaders, the Volunteer Coordinator supports volunteer engagement and continuity, maintains accurate records and documentation, and identifies opportunities to more effectively integrate volunteers into AAVSO’s programs and operations in support of its scientific and educational mission.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position that will be fulfilled remotely. Some travel, evening work, and weekend work is required to support a small number of events throughout the year.
