Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) is seeking a strategic and collaborative Global Communications Manager to coordinate with regionally-based communications officers and to advance our international brand identity. In this role, you will champion CSF’s mission by building external communications content including newsletters, research papers, policy briefs and managing CSF’s digital platforms. Position Overview
The Global Communications Manager is an integral position within our global organization, responsible for maintaining and amplifying the global brand identity of CSF. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, this role drives high-impact external communications, directs global marketing campaigns, and collaborates across international project and communications teams. As the ultimate steward of CSF’s public voice, the Global Communications Manager ensures high-quality, consistent messaging across all global offices, translating complex economic analyses and environmental training impacts into compelling, accessible narratives. Additionally, this role partners closely with the Director of the Numbers for Nature (N4N) Training Institute to spearhead marketing initiatives for CSF’s professional development courses, with your role helping to expand CSF's reach and educational impact.
Global Team Leadership & Strategic Alignment
- Direct global communications strategy across international offices, ensuring regional campaigns align with CSF’s core brand identity.
- Coordinate, support, and build capacity for in-country communications staff and field teams, fostering high-performing cross-cultural collaboration.
- Modernize internal communications infrastructure, establishing clear guidelines, protocols, and document archiving standards to improve organizational efficiency and maintain brand consistency.
Brand Stewardship & High-Impact Content Production
- Serve as the final editor and gatekeeper for all external, branded materials, maintaining strict quality control and a unified organizational voice.
- Oversee full-lifecycle production of global publications—including Annual Reports, Newsletters, Policy Briefs, infographics, and press releases—translating complex economic analysis into compelling narratives.
- Advise the CSF team on media requests and drive proactive press engagement to elevate CSF’s global profile and visibility.
Multi-Channel Digital Marketing & Growth
- Direct global marketing efforts, managing and continuously optimizing CSF’s websites, online archives, and multimedia libraries (YouTube, video lessons).
- Drive data-backed audience engagement by managing the global CRM (HubSpot) and implementing targeted email marketing campaigns, quarterly newsletters, and donor outreach.
Numbers for Nature Training Institute Promotion
- Coordinate with Training Team communications strategies for CSF’s premier international training programs, supporting recruitment, event registration, and promotional outreach.
- Support cultivation of a global alumni network, tracking long-term project outcomes to surface impactful success stories and testimonials that demonstrate training efficacy in coordination with the training team.
Fundraising & Executive Support
- Provide support for fundraising initiatives, including the end-of-year campaign, to secure critical organizational resources.
- Provide agile, strategic communications advisory and collateral support directly to the Executive Director and senior leadership team.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Education
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, with a proven track record of managing a brand’s public voice.
- Leadership & Management: Experience managing, mentoring, and building capacity within a team, preferably across multiple geographic locations or diverse cultures.
Technical & Platform Skills
- CRM & Marketing Automation: Proficient in HubSpot (or an equivalent enterprise CRM) for audience segmentation, email marketing, and data-backed donor outreach campaigns.
- Digital Infrastructure: Hands-on experience managing and optimizing web platforms, content management systems (CMS), and multimedia archives (e.g., YouTube, video libraries).
- Content Production: Demonstrated experience overseeing the full lifecycle of high-impact publications, including Annual Reports, Policy Briefs, newsletters, and infographics.
Core Competencies & Skills
- Strategic Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex, technical data (such as economics, science, or policy analysis) into compelling, accessible narratives for diverse global audiences.
- Editorial Excellence: Sharp editing and proofreading skills with an uncompromising eye for detail, serving as the final gatekeeper for brand consistency.
- Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to foster high team morale and collaborate effectively with international field offices.
- Project Management: Highly organized administrative strategist capable of modernizing internal protocols, archiving standards, and communication guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Background: Experience working within an international non-profit, environmental conservation organization, or sustainable development NGO.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency or working proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Bahasa Indonesia is a significant plus.
- Educational Marketing: Experience promoting international training programs, workshops, or higher-education courses, including alumni network engagement.
Location
This is a remote position, and overlap with US East Coast and UK working hours is required. A hybrid working arrangement is possible in the Washington, D.C. area but not required. Opportunities to travel to CSF’s regions of work may be available but are not required.
Depending on candidate's legal location and country of residence, this position may be structured as either a formal employment relationship or an independent consultancy agreement. The final classification will be determined by CSF in accordance with local labor laws, regulatory requirements, and our available organizational infrastructure in the relevant country.
