    Organization Overview

    Breaktime (www.breaktime.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to break the cycle of young adult homelessness by equipping young adults with the job and financial security they need to establish housing security.     Roles and Responsibilities

    Overview: Breaktime has officially launched the Resource Hub! The Hub offers essential services, including laundry, showers, and access to the Breaktime Store. The Resource Hub Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of The Hub at 63 Franklin Street.

    This hybrid role (4 days a week in person) is responsible for ensuring the Hub is welcoming, safe, and effective for young adults accessing services, while coordinating staffing, volunteers, and partnerships that keep the space running smoothly. The Resource Hub Manager connects Hub activity to Breaktime’s broader mission and programs.

    Responsibilities:

    Operations & Coordination:

    • Ensure the Resource Hub operates each day reliably by coordinating schedules, services, and on-site logistics, ensuring young adults have consistent access to laundry, showers, and the Breaktime Store.
    • Work closely with the Community Outreach Director to create and refine standard operating procedures that strengthen operations in the Resource Hub for young adults and other teams.
    • Manage staffing and coverage plans for the Hub, including front desk, volunteers, and events.
    • Coordinate partner and volunteer donation deliveries.
    • Collaborate with Operations staff to ensure the space is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including submitting and tracking facilities requests.
    • Co-create annual budget and track monthly reconciliations.
    • Manage data collection, audits, and analysis, utilizing insights from young adults, staff, and Hub usage trends to pilot and improve processes, services, and policies.

    Steward Partnerships and Support for the Resource Hub:

    • Cultivate strategic partnerships that expand resources and enhance services offered through the Resource Hub.
    • Partner with the Development team to build and maintain a reliable volunteer network that sustains the Resource Hub’s programs and services.
    • Represent the Resource Hub in community spaces as needed, including partner meetings, site visits, or events, in collaboration with other Community Outreach team members.

    Management & Supervision:

    • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to Resource Hub staff, interns, and volunteers.
    • Set clear expectations and priorities, hold regular one-on-ones and huddles, and give timely feedback that supports performance and growth.
    • Lead or coordinate training for Hub staff, interns, and volunteers on policies, systems, safety protocols, and Breaktime’s values.
    • Model Breaktime’s leadership practices and values in daily interactions with young adults, colleagues, and partners.

    Reports to: Director of Community Outreach

    Supervises: Up to 2 direct reports

    Requirements

    • At least 2–4 years of experience in youth work, homelessness services, community-based programs, or related fields.
    • At least 2 years of experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers, including giving feedback and supporting development.
    • Experience working with young adults, people experiencing housing instability, or other marginalized communities.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage daily operations or logistics for a program, site, or physical space.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young adults, staff, volunteers, and partners.
    • Ability to maintain healthy boundaries, practice trauma-informed care, and navigate sensitive or confidential situations.
    • Experience responding to conflict or crisis with calm, empathy, and appropriate use of de-escalation strategies.
    • Comfort using technology and basic systems such as Google Workspace, scheduling tools, and simple databases or CRMs, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, track details, and follow through consistently.
    • Commitment to Breaktime’s values, including young adults first, radical inclusion, and collaborative innovation, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across lines of difference.
    • Ability to work in person at the Resource Hub during operating hours, with occasional evenings or weekends for events or special programming.
    • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry boxes or donations, for example, up to 25–30 pounds.
    • Ability to travel reliably between program and partner sites (by public transit or other means) is required; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
