CBR Pantry Co-Coordinators

Cornbread & Roses (CBR) is seeking 2 part time food pantry co-coordinators. We ask the people applying to be based in Jackson County, NC. Additionally, we ask that one coordinator be at least multilingual with Spanish and English. Paid bi-weekly part time at $20 per hour. Weekends and evenings are included, specifically on the days we hold an open pantry. Each week the CBR pantry is open Wednesday’s 6-8pm, Thursday’s and Sunday’s 12-2 pm.

While understanding that both co-coordinators may have to step in for the other a frontend coordinator would do things such as ordering, MANNA reports, volunteer recruitment/management, and participant facing at open pantries, while a backend coordinator would do stocking, unloading and sorting deliveries, food pickup and weekend deliveries for our neighbors unable to attend open pantry.

Job Responsibilities

• Must be able to cover and/or be on call for all open pantry days. Due to the volume of volunteers, it may not be mandatory to be at the pantry during open hours, but “on call” is required. Both coordinators must be present for bi-weekly MANNA delivery days.
• Must be able to take an average inventory of products at the pantry and create/ add to the MANNA list due every two weeks.
• Keep a monthly log of volunteer hours, numbers of families accessing the pantry during open pantry days and delivery, refrigerator & freezer temp logs, and weight of retail donations. Must turn these numbers into MANNA reports before the 7th of each month with a followup email to ED.
• Take trash and recycling to the dumpster across the parking lot after every open pantry and MANNA delivery.
• Must have login to the volunteer sign up sheet and make sure weekly announcements, openings, cancellations, etc are up to date.

Job Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation
• Experience in food service and/or pantries/foodbanks.
• Must work evenings, weekends, and be on call during open pantry hours.
• Must have excellent communication skills to directly communicate with volunteers and employees, uphold CBR values in talking with outside organizations, and understand the trauma that may present itself within our neighbors who access the pantry.
• Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds
• Recommended - Multilingual in Spanish & English.
