    Job Summary

    NSC’s Survivor Services provides comprehensive legal and case management services for immigrant victims of crime, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and torture. Services are provided to help victims of crime move toward safety and self-sufficiency. NSC is recognized as a regional and national leader for developing best and promising practices to serve immigrant victims of crime. The Case Manager within the Survivor Services Department will provide direct services to survivors of domestic and interpersonal violence and human trafficking. The Case Manager will deliver the highest level of services through effectively determining eligibility, assessing needs, identifying resources, making referrals, following up, and documenting client interactions and proactively supporting clients’ goals. This position is scheduled to end on September 30, 2025, contingent upon the renewal of the grant, if awarded, would start on October 1, 2025.

    The Case Manager will report directly to the Program Manager of Survivor Services.

    Job Duties:

    1. Provide direct case management services in a trauma-informed manner to survivors of torture, human trafficking, and violence. This position will be to support healing, recovery, and development of self-sufficiency skills to navigate needed resources and services to victims of trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault and torture. Case managers will conduct extensive needs assessments, service plans, and provide referrals to education, employment, housing, health, victim compensation assistance programs, clinical mental health services, and legal representation in-house and externally.
    2. Maintain a caseload of 20-25 survivors of crime, on average. Case acuity levels will be evaluated weekly with supervisor.
    3. Work with immigrant victims to evaluate their safety needs, develop tailored safety plans and provide ongoing emotional support to victims.
    4. Will work to prevent re-victimization which may occur because of the various systemic barriers that are often not trauma- informed or linguistically supportive. This will be done by fostering strong relationships with providers through advocacy and building on existing resources available to victims by expanding on existing resource guides specific to the needs of immigrant survivors.
    5. Maintain accurate, timely and orderly case files, case notes and database records, following our confidentiality protocols and staying up to date on our critical incident protocols.
    6. Assist with outreach and trainings to communities and various stakeholders which include but are not limited to: health clinics, legal service providers, social service providers, faith-based organizations, community-based centers, organizations that work with survivors of violence, and other locations frequented by immigrants.
    7. Attend workshops, webinars, and/or engage in professional working groups relevant to working with survivors of violence and as necessary, maintain professional knowledge and licensure.
    8. Actively participate in collaborative case review meetings to support survivor needs and challenges, and participate in other department, agency, community and provider meetings to enhance well-being of victims, as needed.
    9. Conduct all activities within the funders’ and NSC’s policies and guidelines.
    10. Adhere to NSC’s security and confidentiality guidelines and ensure the appropriate handling of sensitive information to protect victims.
    11. Complete training and reporting requirements by funders on a quarterly and annual basis.
    12. Other duties as assigned within the scope of funder expectations, position expectations and agency mission.

    Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

    • Understands NSC’s mission, vision, values, programs and services, and strategic plan.
    • Knowledge of community resources and benefits that impact immigrant victims of violence.
    • Have background knowledge of trauma-informed model/practice.
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
    • Ability to multi-task and problem solve under pressure.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a part of a team.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    Minimum Education: BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study with experience or MSW preferred.

    Bilingual is preferred: Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, French or Mandarin, preferred.

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
