    Baton Rouge Alliance for Students Action works in partnership with parents, community, civic leaders, and policymakers to achieve the shared goal of an excellent education for every Baton Rouge student. Dedicated to elevating the voice of students and families in our community, Alliance Action’s work focuses on the areas of: Empowering Families, Elevating Community, and Engaging Leaders.

    The Alliance’s Brand Manager will be charged with creating and executing the brand image, identity, and perception of the Alliance’s family of brands. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive brand strategies that resonate with numerous audiences, enhance brand awareness, and drive increased community support. The Brand Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective brand messaging across all channels.

    OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop, implement, and manage the overall brand strategy, including short-term and long-term goals, positioning, and brand voice.
    • Define and maintain the brand's visual and verbal identity, ensuring consistent use across all marketing materials and touchpoints.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities to strengthen and diversify the brands’ positioning.
    • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of brand campaigns, support on events and programming launches, and promotions that align with the brand’s objectives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Alliance priorities.
    • Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure that all marketing materials, both online and offline, adhere to the brand standards.
    • Manage and steward an annual advertising and communications budget of nearly $100,000, overseeing strategic investment across digital, radio, outdoor, print, and other paid media channels to maximize brand visibility, audience engagement, and organizational impact.
    • Lead media planning, vendor coordination, placement execution, and performance tracking to ensure campaigns align with organizational priorities, reach target audiences effectively, and deliver measurable results.
    • Analyze the performance of brand initiatives and campaigns, using data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven decisions and improvements.
    • Assist the Director of Strategic Communications in the development and creative direction of marketing collateral and reports.

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A demonstrated commitment to ensuring access to high-quality school options for every student in Baton Rouge
    • 3+ years of experience in public relations, communications, and/or related field.
    • Experience developing, communicating, and managing complex communications and marketing campaigns across a variety of diverse stakeholders
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful brand strategies
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ideal candidate is a flexible and adaptable executor with an entrepreneurial spirit
    • Experience working across departments or teams within an organization
    • Experience working in diverse communities and with grassroots organizations

    WORK DEMANDS

    Motivation and ability to work as needed to responsively manage stakeholders at all levels, to take ownership of projects, and exercise strong judgment in tough and time-sensitive situations.

    COMPENSATION

    This is a full-time, in-office (one of five workdays remote) role offering a salary range between $55,000 and $80,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students Action provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes individual health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with company-matching contributions.
